ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is Swap Ideas Day which encourages us to share and trade ideas and concepts. Sharing is good. Ideas are a good thing too. Putting the two together should produce a real winner of a day.
Have a great Swap Ideas Day!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
If you have an apple and I have an apple and we exchange apples then you and still each have one apple. But if you have an idea and I have an idea and we exchange these ideas, the each of us will have two ideas.
George Bernard Shaw
I am always learning something new and very often it is my family or one of my friends that give me a new idea. And of course the internet is great for finding ideas too and that is where the ideas I have to share today came from.
I found a great idea for doing something with the few remaining apples I have left in the fridge. I wanted to try out something new.
Carmel Apple Cinnamon Scones
2 cups flour, plus more for hands and work surface
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter, cold
1/2 c. heavy cream
1 egg
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1 tsp. vanilla
1 heaping cup pealed and chopped apples
Optional: 1 tbsp cream and coarse sugar
1/2 c. store bought or home made caramel sauce
Preheat oven to 400 degres. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
In a large bowl, whisk the flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt. Blend in the butter to the flour mixture and combine with a pastry cutter or fork until it resembles coarse meal. Set aside
In a small bowl, whisk the cream, egg and brown sugar and vanilla together. Drizzle it over the flour mixture the toss together with a spatula until everything seems most. Slowly fold in chopped apples. Work the dough into a ball with floured hands and transfer to floured surface.
Press into a 8 inch circle and cut into 8 equal wedges with a sharp knife. Place scones 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheet. Brush scones with 1 tbsp. dream and sprinkle with sugar.
Bake them for 20 to 25 minutes until lightly golden brown and cooked through. Remove from oven and allow to coal a few minutes before drizzling with caramel sauce.
A friend also shared this idea for fall decorating, which I hope to try out soon. Mine won’t be quite the same, but I’ll be showing it to you when it’s done.
I also found a few ideas for making gifts for two of my sons and their families who have moved into new homes recently and they are shown in today’s pictures.
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday!

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
If you are seeking creative ideas, go out walking. Angels whisper to a man when he goes for a walk.
Raymond Inmon
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

I hope you also share an idea or two today. I love learning something new !
That is sweet, Ma, what you made for your sons and their families for their new houses! It is a good to swap ideas and to share what we have learned along the way to help others who might not have learned that particular new thing yet. Only new idea I can think of to share is if one lives where it is too hot to go outside to play, finding an indoor playground is a good way to run energy off little ones!
