ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is International Peace Day which was created by the United Nations in 1981 and is dedicated to establishing and promoting world peace. As no one wants war and unrest, world peace is a valuable and worthy proposition.
This day also recognizes the efforts of those who have worked hard to end conflict and promote peace.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Let there be peace on earth. And let it begin with me.
It would be wonderful to have world peace. To live in a world, where everyone got along and there was no anger. I think peace begins at home and with each one of us. If we all do our best to promote peace, right where we live, it could start a ripple effect that could spread out to others.
My own little part of the world is very peaceful and I try to keep it that way. It’s not always easy. Outside happenings and distractions can steal our peace if we let them, but we always have a choice. We shouldn’t ever let others take charge of our attitude.
One of those things that helps to make for peace filled days is to be prepared for the coming holidays .
Today’s holiday tip: Take inventory of cards, gift wrap and mailing supplies. Make sure you know what you have before you buy. I always look for sales and never pay full price. That way I usually have what I need on hand.
It’s the last day of summer and another hot day here in northern Ohio making it very hard to believe that we’re to be in the low 60’s tomorrow. The first day of fall will feel like Autumn has truly arrived !
This is festival weekend here in our area. The Wooleybear Festival is this Sunday in a town near by and the Apple Festival is right here at home all weekend. I hope to get my first jug of fresh Apple Cider and we’ll find out what kind of winter to expect according the famous Wooleybear. The woolly bear is the Isabella tiger moth’s caterpillar stage. They emerge in the fall and, according to folklore, the width or number of stripes can tell how severe the winter will be. The wider or more numerous the orange or rusty brown stripes, the milder it will be; the blacker the bear, the worse the weather.
The pictures today are of the Apple Festival last year. I was there with DS#5 and his family and DS#6 who happened to also be in town.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS

6359. for peace, it begins with me
6360. for sales that make our dollars stretch
6361. for a great Pumpkin Spice morning cup of coffee
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Where there is faith, there is love;
Where there is love there is peace;
Where there is peace, there is God.
And where there is God; there is no need.
Leo Tolstoy
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

May Peace be with you today and always !
It's too bad EVERY day isn't Peace Day. Your post reminds me of a favorite song: "Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me..."
We could be peaceful in our country if all strived to be peaceful in just their little part and it would continue to grow. Good thing to pray for. Such a difference in the temperatures from today to tomorrow. I bet it will feel good though with those temperatures to be out enjoying the festivities.
betty
I believe that children learn what they live, what they hear, what they witness. Definitely, let there be peace on Earth, and let it begin with me.
Your upcoming festivals sound like great fun; I'm going to have to see if there aren't some upcoming around these parts.
