THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Ah, it's a lovely thing to know a thing or two.
Jean Baptiste Molière
They say trivia means: matters or things that are very unimportant, inconsequential, or nonessential; trifles. We used to play the Trivial Pursuit game and that was always fun. More than not I would loose. These days my trivia consists of finding out what fun holiday we have to celebrate each day.
After a few warmer days, we are now colder and have chances of snow coming our way. A blast of colder air that comes our way over Lake Erie often causes Lake Effect Snow in our area. It really depends on the direction of the wind as to how much snow we will have. Often it goes out over the lake to the eastern part of our state, but sometimes it comes head on and we wind up with several inches. Time will tell just how much we get. One thing for sure is that we will be colder with highs in the 20’s.
Keep safe and warm everyone!
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
Today is National Spaghetti Day. This easy spaghetti recipe lets you cook the pasta right in the tomato sauce, so there's less fuss and less cleanup
One Pot Spaghetti
8 ounces ground beef or bulk pork sausage
1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms or one 6 ounce jar sliced mushrooms, drained
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1 14 ounce can chicken broth or beef broth
1 3/4 cups water
1 6 ounce can tomato paste
1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
6 ounces dried spaghetti, broken
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
In a large saucepan cook the ground beef, fresh mushrooms, onion, and garlic until meat is brown and onion is tender. Drain.
Stir in the broth, water, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, and pepper. Bring to boiling. Add the broken spaghetti, a little at a time, stirring constantly. Return to boiling; reduce heat. Boil gently, uncovered, for 17 to 20 minutes or until spaghetti is tender and sauce is desired consistency, stirring frequently.
Serve with Parmesan cheese. Makes 4 servings.

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Knowledge is of two kinds. We know a subject ourselves, or we know where we can find information upon it.
Samuel Johnson
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

We are in the midst of a cold blast again here too! I love one-pot meals. Much less to clean up even with a dishwasher! Love Maxine!!! I'm in my snapdragon years too!!
I never knew that about lake-effect snow(fall) ..... trivia for the rest of us!
I read where we're supposed to be back in the mid-70's next week. Shucks, I miss winter.
My weather app said we will have colder weather in the 20's this weekend. It's getting cooler here now, and I have the heat going tonight. That spaghetti looks so good I'm going to save the recipe and cook it. Take care and stay warm. Jean
