55 DAYS UNTIL SPRING
Sunrise: 7:46 am

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Compliment Day which s a great opportunity to say something positive about the people you come into contact with. Everyone has good attributes. That's right, everyone.
Compliment Day is celebrated by offering sincere compliments to people you know. It is important that you are sincere. People will see right through insincerity, and you will do more harm than good.
Remember: Mama said, If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything. After a long search for something good, if you just can't find a compliment for them, then silence is golden.
Compliments are free, easy to give and receive, they make people happy and build trust.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
A little praise goes a great ways.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
In the hustle bustle of our daily lives, it is easy to start taking our loved ones and people around us for granted. Complimenting does not have to be intimidating or hard. For it to be sincere and sound heartfelt, it must come from the heart.
So from my heart to yours, I’d like to compliment each and every one of you for being the wonderful and unique persons you are. I like to think that what comes around, goes around and when you help to make someone else happy, then we are happier people too.
Giving a compliment is a wonderful way to brighten someone's day or to give credit for a job well done.
After a very slow start on Monday, this week is looking to be a quiet one and I’m very thankful for that. The everyday things I need to do now may not be so ordinary as they were, but all in all tasks that help me to move forward.
Little by little, one step at a time and I’ll get there.
The picture above is one taken of the buds on the Star Magnolia Tree here showing how the buds are popping out due to our recent springlike weather . The rest are a hodgepodge.
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
Today Peanut Butter Day. This auspicious occasion was created many years ago to allow peanut butter lovers to celebrate the creation of this wonderful food.
One of my favorite snacks is made by simply spreading some peanut butter on a celery stick. It’s a great combination. But if you’d like to try a little snack that’s still easy but takes a wee bit more time, I found this recipe to share today
No Bake Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookies
2 c. sugar
1 stick butter
1/2 c. milk
3 c. quick oatmeal
3/4 c. peanut butter
In a medium saucepan mix together sugar, butter and milk. Heat to boiling. Let boil 1 1/2 minutes. Remove pan from heat and add oatmeal and peanut butter. Stir thoroughly and drop by teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper and cool.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
You have it easily in your power to increase the sum total of this world's happiness now. How? By giving a few words of sincere appreciation to someone who is lonely or discouraged. Perhaps you will forget tomorrow the kind words you say today, but the recipient may cherish them over a lifetime.
Dale Carnegie
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
4597. for the kind words of others, very appreciated
4598. for peanut butter, a staple on my pantry shelf
4599. for a quiet start to the week
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Appreciation can make a day--even change a life, Your willingness to put it into words is all that is necessary.
Margaret Cousins
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

I like peanut butter cookies; I might have to make some soon. It is always good to give compliments and to be gracious when receiving them back :)

And if you can't find something nice to say, don't say anything at all! That is so true!!
May I just say that I appreciate YOU and your great writing? There, I said it!
And I used to hate peanut butter, I would make Richard peanut butter cookies and would never touch one of them. Now, I love peanut butter and he finds it hard for me to keep my hands off his cookies! That's life! :-)
What a great day!
I've begun circulating a 'get-to-know-you' questionnaire at work, and one question is "What is your biggest pet peeve?" Without hesitation, my answer was insincerity.
And peanut butter? (Be still, my heart.) My all-time guilty pleasure is Jif extra crunchy peanut butter. I keep it refrigerated (sometimes frozen). Nothing better than taking a big old soup spoon-full, then sitting and devouring it s-l-o-w-l-y.
I even used to keep a couple big spoons in the freezer!
