64 DAYS UNTIL SPRING
Sunrise: 7:52 am
Sunset: 5:24 pm
Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
The third Sunday in January is annually celebrated as World Religion Day, which is a time to celebrate human unity and shared religious values. It was established in 1950 as a way to encourage interfaith understanding.
The day calls for members of all religions in the world to recognize that all religions have common spiritual goals.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Let's not be afraid to receive each day's surprise, whether it comes to us as sorrow or as joy. It will open a new place in our hearts, a place where we can welcome new friends and celebrate more fully our shared humanity.
Henri Nouwen
We may have different religions, different languages, different colored skin but we all belong to one human race. And the good news is that the good Lord loves us all. It’s very important to remember that we are all children of God and to treat each other with love and respect.
With that said, I’ll be off to church a little later on this Sunday morning, where I worship as I choose to. It’s a blessing that I can do so, as many cannot.
Many 3rd Sundays of the month I do dinner for my family, but until this house is set straight and I can begin again in a new home, Sunday dinners will be put on hold. Still and all Sundays do remain my day of rest. I need this day so I can be ready for the week ahead. It’ll be another very busy one.
The last couple of pictures in today’s post are of DS#5 and family who welcomed a new pup into their home this week. She’s a St. Bernard mix.
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!
PRAYER REQUESTS
Please join me in praying today for DSIL and his family as his Dad passed away yesterday evening. May the dear Lord comfort them in their loss.
and also for a dear friend that will be undergoing major surgery tomorrow. May she be blessed with a successful surgery and a good recovery too.
Your prayers are very much appreciated.
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
Today is Strawberry Ice Cream Day which is a day to celebrate red, ripe, juicy strawberries churned and frozen with some fresh cream and a bit of sugar.
Sad to say there is no strawberry ice cream in the freezer here at my house, but I do have some vanilla ice cream and I plan to top it off with a dab of strawberry jam with some Reddi whip on top !
Sounds good to me. Maybe you can treat yourself to strawberry Ice Cream today too !
COUNTING MY GIFTS
We all take different paths in life, but no matter where we go, we take a little of each other everywhere.
Tim McGraw
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
4573. for all religions, we are all children of God
4574. for strawberries, good in ice cream too
4575. for the freedom to worship as I choose
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

What a good looking pup! I'm sure all will enjoy raising it! Glad we do have a chance to worship as we want in this country. It is one of our biggest rights I do believe! Enjoy your day of rest, Ma!
betty
Oh, that pup is adorable! I'll bet your grand-darlings are over the moon! :)
It's so nice to consider all religious sects' commonalities v. its differences. They didn't know any better - only what they were taught - but my parents' generation seemed so focused, not only on which church was the correct one to attend, but what synod. Today, when we're up for the drive, Tom and I attend the UNITY church.
Praying for those who have lost loved ones and for those facing surgery.
The puppy is sweet but big! :-)
