49 DAYS UNTIL SPRING

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day! In the late 1950s, an American engineer named Al Fielding and a Swiss inventor named Marc Chavannes created Bubble Wrap. They were actually trying to come up with a textured, plastic wallpaper, but soon realized that their product had huge potential as a packaging material. If you are feeling a little stressed lately, then this special day is made for you! It's a wonderful stress reliever! Just squeeze the bubbles in the Bubble wrap, and feel the stress disappear with each POP...POP...POP.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
The time to relax is when you don’t have time for it.
Sydney J. Harris
Popping bubble wrap can help take away some of the tension in our daily lives and it’s fun to do. I’ve also found that one sure way to get some immediate relief is to simple take a deep breath or two. Breathing in and out slowly really helps.
Sometimes we get so stressed out we simply forget to breathe. Deep Breathing makes you calmer and helps to detoxify the body. Deep breathing relieves pain and makes you happier. It helps improve you posture and stimulates the lymphatic system and increases our cardiovascular capacity.
Remember to pace yourself, delegate when you can, exercise, accept and give hugs, sing a song, believe in others, stretch, hang around positive people, take a break, do neck rolls, be kind, visualize a peaceful place, pray, avoid clutter, and create a golden moment or two and you’ll leave stress behind.
I’m taking a deep breath this morning as we start another new week. One can only wonder what new exciting adventures await in the days ahead. Taking one day at a time though, is really the best way to live.
The pictures today are of what was my beloved grandparents farm in West Virginia. I was born and raised and have mostly lived in Ohio all my life but this is the place I always called home, my peaceful place.
It’s to be another cold week here in Ohio with temps in the 30’s and 20’s. Bundle up and keep warm everyone! We have a few inches of new snow here and a snow advisory is in effect.
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
Today is Croissant Day
Croissants are flaky, buttery pastries, identified by their crescent shape. Many people use croissants to make sandwiches. Some popular croissant sandwiches include egg salad sandwich, tuna sandwich, and cheese and ham sandwich. I love them all.
This croissant sandwich recipe is perfect for breakfast or any time of day
Egg and Ham Croissant
8 tablespoons butter
4 Croissants, split
8 slices American cheese
1/4 pound thinly sliced ham
8 large eggs, keep warm
2 tablespoons chopped chives, optional
Heat broiler.
Spread 2 teaspoons butter on bottom half of each croissant; place buttered side up on baking sheet. Broil 5 to 7 inches from heat 1 or 2 minutes or until light golden brown.
Top each toasted croissant half with 1 slice cheese and 1/4 of the ham. Continue broiling 1 to 2 minutes or until cheese is melted.
Place 2 poached eggs and 1 slice cheese over ham on each croissant. Continue broiling 1 minute or until cheese is melted. Sprinkle with chives; top each with remaining croissant half.
Makes 4 servings

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

What a pretty farm! I can see why you have such fond memories of it, not just the land, but the people that lived there!
I too like to pop bubble wrap :) Very stress relieving.

I loved the pictures of your grandparents farm. Wish I had some bubble wrap right now!! Happy Monday
What beautiful countryside!
Goodness, but I'd LOVE to send you some bubble-wrap. At my workplace, I've got it stuffed in every credenza, nook and cranny -- left-overs from our rooms renovation project. I can't bear to throw it away!
