40 DAYS UNTIL SUMMER

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
May 11th is Twilight Zone Day, an unofficial holiday that honors and celebrates the Twilight Zone, an iconic and thrilling television show.
The stories on the show combined the features of science fiction, psychological thrillers, drama, horror and fantasy and were based in the twilight zone. The twilight zone according to the narrator at the beginning of each episode of the show is a 'fifth dimension, beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge’.
Celebrate another dimension, if you dare.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Laughter is day, and sobriety is night; a smile is the twilight that hovers gently between both, more bewitching than either.
Henry Ward Beecher
When strange, inexplicable things happen, people often call it a Twilight Zone moment. I think we’ve all had those times when we can’t understand or explain just what happened.
To me its ’s the long and short of that special time between day and night called twilight.
It seems there are lessons to be learned by everything in life and the following is not an exception.
Lessons Learned By Watching The Twilight Zone
If you don't think of tomorrow you will drown in your yesterday and will never be able to really fully live in the present.
If we allow ourselves we can easily forget what is real and what is not.
Be careful what you wish for because whatever you do wish for has consequences.
Beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder. What I think is beautiful you may consider to be ugly so it is important to remember that beauty is all a persons personal opinion.
All good lessons for each of us to learn. Every day has it’s own special ‘Twilight Zone’.
Today’s pictures are of more Spring days in May here at my house.
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday !
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s Eat What You Want Day
I like to eat what I love and love what I eat. Most of the time I prefer my home cooking to eating out, but there are a few things, like a McDonalds bacon, egg and cheese biscuit, or Red Lobster coconut shrimp, that are better than what I can make. For some reason, there’s is better.
Eating what I want can depend a lot on the weather. If it’s hot, salads are great and if it is cold there is nothing quite like a bowl of chili to warm you up.
Last week I was on a sandwich kick and so looked up some 'new to me' sandwich recipes and this is one of those that I found
CHICKEN PARMESAN SANDWICH
1 - 12 oz loaf garlic bread
1 cup pizza sauce
1/2 tsp. dried marjoram
1 -12 oz pkg. precooked breaded, boneless chicken breast cutlets,
4 oz sliced mozzarella cheese
1 tsp. olive oil
1/4 tsp. sesame seeds, optional
1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Heat garlic bread as directed.
In a small bowl, combine sauce and marjoram. Place bottom of garlic bread loaf on jelly roll pan.
Spread with half of the sauce. Top with chicken cutlets and remaining sauce.
Bake for 15 minutes or until chicken is heated through. Arrange cheese over chicken cutlets.
Bake until cheese is melted, about 5 minutes. Brush crust of bread top with oil, sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
This recipe makes enough for a crowd, so I adapted it for one sandwich.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
The past is but the beginning of a beginning, and all that is and has been is but the twilight of the dawn.
H. G. Wells
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
3850. for lessons to learn every day
3851. for sandwiches that make a meal
3852. for peace filled evening twilight hours
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
When twilight drops her curtain down
And pins it with a star
Remember that you have a friend
Though she may wander far.
Lucy Maud Montgomery, Anne of the Green Gables
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma
