THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Spring is here, let’s party !
We are having back to back celebrations here this weekend and some in between too. This son's birthday is another long distance one and as usual the card went out in the mail. I do love and miss him and am hoping he has a wonderful day to celebrate !
Today is also the celebration our our little Darling’s baptism and this is one that I get to attend. It looks like it’ll be a nice day weather wise so that’s a good thing too.
Yesterday’s party was lots of fun and thanks to DD and her hubby for making this day so special for our little X Factor.
The week ahead looks to be warmer than the previous one and I’m looking forward to some time on the porch.
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday !
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s National Vanilla Pudding Day
Chocolate may be the best selling pudding flavor, with butterscotch its top alternative choice. But vanilla pudding is delicious and accommodates little extras like sprinkles, fruit, and chocolate chips especially well! And with the popular instant varieties, pudding is probably one of the easiest desserts to make. I did find a recipe for the homemade variety and it isn’t hard at all to make either.
Homemade Vanilla Pudding
2 cups milk
1/2 cup white sugar
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon butter
In medium saucepan over medium heat, heat milk until bubbles form at edges.
In a bowl, combine sugar, cornstarch and salt. Pour into hot milk, a little at a time, stirring to dissolve. Continue to cook and stir until mixture thickens enough to coat the back of a metal spoon. Do not boil. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and butter.
Pour into serving dishes. Chill before serving.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Life is like a party. You invite a lot of people; some go, some join you, some laugh with you, some didn’t come. But in the end, after the fun, there would be a few who would clean up the mess with you. And most of the time, those were the uninvited ones.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
3880. for DS#4, it’s his birthday today
3881. for our little Darling, she’ll be baptized today
3882. for puddings of all sorts, yum!
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we're here we should dance
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma

What a joy-FULL day you've shared with us! (This is just now showing up in my reader.)
When I was a kid, vanilla sure wasn't at the top of my favorite flavors. Go figure, these days it's #1. Happy to say my taste buds grew up!
