36 DAYS UNTIL SUMMER

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Police Officer's Memorial Day which honors and remembers police officers who gave their lives while on duty.
Police officers protect us 24/7 every day of the year. It's a sometimes dangerous job. They know they are putting their lives at risk to make and keep us safe. Police officers know the risks, and accept them. Sometimes, they pay the ultimate price.
Police Officer's Memorial Day was created and established as May 15th by an Act of Congress.
Show respect and appreciation for police officers everywhere...today....and everyday.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Law enforcement officers are never off duty. They are dedicated public servants who are sworn to protect public safety at any time and place that the peace is threatened. They need all the help that they can get.
Barbara Boxer
For generations, the brave women and men of our Nation's law enforcement have answered the call to serve and protect our communities. I am very grateful for all Police men and women who do a lot to protect and keep us safe every day of the year. Just like our military, they also sacrifice a lot. When anyone puts themselves in harms way for others it has to be applauded.
It takes a special kind of courage to be a peace officer. Whether deputies or detectives,or forest service officers, beat cops or Federal agents, we hold up those who wear the badge as heroes.
It’s been a rainy start to weekend here but hopefully today it will be clearing up. Today is the 3rd Sunday of the month and I’ll be having dinner for those in my family that can come. After church I’ll be spending the afternoon cooking. That’s one of my favorite things to do, so it’s not work at all but a pleasure.
Today’s pictures are of the buds that will hopefully soon be bursting out here at my house. We had a frost advisory posted for this morning.
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday !
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s National Chocolate Chip Day!
Everyone loves chocolate chip cookies and I found this delicious recipe for them that includes oatmeal.
New Jersey Cookies
1 C. Butter, softened
1 C. Sugar
1 C. Brown Sugar
2 Eggs
1 1/2 C. Flour
1 tsp. Vanilla
1tsp. Soda
1tsp. Salt
3 C. Oatmeal
1 pkg. Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
Cream butter and sugars together then add eggs. Add soda, salt, flour, oatmeal and vanilla to the sugar mixture and mix together well. Add chocolate chips in at the end and give it a good mix. When everything is combined set in the fridge to chill for 1 hour.
Drop rounded dough balls onto a ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 8 minutes in 350 degree oven.
Enjoy!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Our nation's military and law enforcement personal work hard to protect us. We must thank them for their continued vigilance. Without their sacrifice we would be less capable of protecting our nation.
Leonard Boswell
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
3862. for our Police Officers, they are heroes

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU !

Like school teachers - I'm delighted to see a surge in appreciation for our peace officers.
Their willingness to put themselves in harm's way is something I (personally) couldn't imagine emulating ... and their patience? Oh my!
I hope you're enjoying a great afternoon!
A frost advisory! Wow and our temperature today is close to 100 degrees! Hope you had a nice dinner with your family. I too admire and respect those who are willing to work as police officers.

It's really dangerous to be a police officer. My hat is off to them.
And dang, you must know I love chocolate chips! :-)
