27 DAYS UNTIL SUMMER

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
International Tiara Day is celebrated on May 24th each year, appropriately on the birthday of Queen Victoria. Since so many girls and women admire tiaras, but there are very few events to which one can appropriately wear one, International Tiara Day was created. It is a day when everyone who wishes can wear a tiara for a day and feel like royalty. After all YOU are special! It’s your day to shine like royalty!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Keep your head up and don’t let your tiara fall!
Tiaras remind me of Miss America, of brides and formals. They are truly for women, but that doesn’t mean that men can’t wear a crown today. We are all very special. Thankfully the good Lord made us all truly unique and very wonderful. And I think that whether we wear an imaginary tiara or a real one it’s always good to celebrate who we are.
Our week started off here with a mildly warm and sunny day. Today we’ll still be sunny but warmer yet. The rest of the week is to continue to be warm but the forecast I saw says we’ll be having rain most every day through the weekend. Thankfully I do have a covered porch where I’ll still be able to get outside.
Memorial Day weekend is just ahead of us and the rain my tamper with some plans that people have for outdoor events, but here at my house it really won’t be making much of a difference.
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday !
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
National Escargot Day
Escargot, the French word for snail, are believed to have been around as food since prehistoric times. Snails are high in protein and low in fat. They are also a good source of Potassium, Vitamin E, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Copper and Selenium.
The most common way we see escargot prepared in the U.S. are as appetizers. The snails are removed from their shells and cooked in butter, usually with lots of garlic. They are then placed back in their shells, or placed in special escargot dishes, and served with the garlic butter and crusty bread for dipping.
I won’t bother sharing a recipe for today because I know they are something I’ll never eat. Snails are not going to be on my menu for today but do have a cute little snail that keeps me company out on the patio.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
My crown is called CONTENT, a crown that seldom kings enjoy

That is a cute snail :) I ate escargot one time; I wasn't impressed. Rain is always good to have, but not if it is forecasted on a holiday weekend. I know it can damper some people's plans.
betty
I said I would NEVER eat escargot and then when we were on a cruise ship once I tried it. I love it!! Harley would love to have a tiara. I should try to find her one!! She can wear it to her prom next year!!
I could never eat anything like a snail or a squid, etc. YUCK! I used to have to prepare them when I worked in a big hotel many moons ago. Not my favourite job. Love the idea of a tiara day. I forgot to polish mine, lol Have a great wednesday! xoxo
