Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is the National Day of Prayer which calls on all people of different faiths in the United States to pray for the nation and its leaders. It is held on the first Thursday of May each year.
In 1775 the Continental Congress allocated a time for prayer in forming a new nation. Over the years, there have been calls for a day of prayer, including from President Abraham Lincoln in 1863. On April 17, 1952, President Harry Truman signed a bill proclaiming the National Day of Prayer into law in the United States. President Reagan amended the law in 1988, designating the first Thursday of May each year as the National Day of Prayer.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
I know that the LORD is always on the side of the right. But it is my constant anxiety and prayer that I and this nation should be on the LORDS side.
Abraham Lincoln
Every day there are lots of people praying all over the world, but this is a special day of prayer and we are asked to pray as a Nation for our Nation. I believe that prayer is the foundation of our lives. Prayer changes us and the world in which we live.
Prayer for our Nation
God our Father, Giver of life,
We entrust the United States of America to Your loving care. You are the rock on which this nation was founded. You alone are the true source of our cherished rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Reclaim this land for Your glory and dwell among Your people. Send Your Spirit to touch the hearts of our nation’s leaders. Open their minds to the great worth of human life and the responsibilities that accompany human freedom. Remind Your people that true happiness is rooted in seeking and doing Your will.
We ask this through Christ Our Lord.
Amen
May we stand together and pray to God to heal our land, and strengthen His people. May we pray for all those in authority. May we pray for God’s miraculous intervening, for blind eyes to be opened, for many to see the power of our Lord as never before.
God hears our prayers, He knows our needs. There's great power in uniting together, turning our hearts towards God, and praying on behalf of our nation.
I hope you all have a GREAT day. Happy Thursday !

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.

Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !

Amen to the prayer for our nation.
We certainly need lots of prayers for our country this year with this crazy election time!
I like that recipe for the enchiladas. I make something similar and like how quick and convenient it is :)

Thank you for the wonderful prayer for our nation, MA... I appreciate it, and said it with you. I pray daily, off and on, all day. I don't know what I would do without it!
Our Nation is in need of many prayers. Thank you for your! And that is the easiest enchilada recipe I have ever seen. I plan to make it soon!
Those enchiladas look really good Pam! Bookmarking the recipe. I believe that prayer is the answer to the world's problems. I am a great believer in the power of prayers, and that a praying nation is a strong nation. Keeping America in my prayers always, especially over these next few months in the run up to the Election in November! Love and hugs! xoxo
