Happy Mother’s Day!
Everybody has a mother and absolutely no one is more special than mom. Sure, dad is really important. And, grandparent's too. But moms, well they are just the greatest. Often taken for granted, they are always our strongest supporter. You can't do wrong in Mom's eyes. When you are hurt, or not feeling well, there is no one else that can help you more than Mom.
So go out and celebrate Mother's Day today!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Mothers hold their children’s hands for a short while, but their hearts forever.
Author Unknown
I didn’t get Mother’s Day cards sent out to the Mom's in my family or to friends either, so this email will have to suffice. I do wish you all a Happy Mother’s Day!
No matter what, we all have mom’s and that gives everyone a reason to celebrate this day! I am blessed to be a Mom and am very thankful for my children. No matter that they are grown up now, we are still mom’s forever.
I’m off to church this morning and several of my children will be there and I love it when we can once again fill a pew at church. Later on we’re getting together for dinner at DD’s house. DSIL’s mom should be there too. The pictures are of last year's Mother’s Day. I’m the one in pink. I’m thinking it won’t be as warm today as it was then, but it’s to be mostly sunny.
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday !
A Mothers’ Day Prayer
God our Creator, we pray:
for new mothers, coming to terms with new responsibility ;
for expectant mothers, wondering and waiting;
for those who are tired, stressed or depressed;
for those who struggle to balance the tasks of work and family;
for those who are unable to feed their children due to poverty;
for those whose children have physical, mental or emotional disabilities;
for those who have children they do not want;
for those who raise children on their own;
for those who have lost a child;
for those who care for the children of others;
for those whose children have left home;
and for those whose desire to be a mother has not been fulfilled.
Bless all mothers, that their love may be deep and tender,
and that they may lead their children to know and do what is good,
living not for themselves alone, but for God and for others.
Amen
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s National Coconut Cream Pie Day!
I found this recipe to share with you today. Best of all it makes it’s own crust!
Old Fashioned Coconut Pie
4 eggs, beaten
1 3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup self-rising flour
2 cups milk
1/2 cup margarine, melted
7 ounces package coconut
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Mix all ingredients together. Pour into two greased 8 inch glass pie dishes. Bake at 300 for 45 minutes or until top of pie is golden brown.
No need to buy pie crusts for this recipe. It's absolutely wonderful and makes 2 pies.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
God could not be everywhere and therefore he made mothers.
Jewish Proverb
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
3841. for all Mom’s everywhere, today is your special day!
3842. for my family, I love all of them
3843. for my computer, it helps me keep in touch with you all
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
When you are a mother, you are never really alone in your thoughts. A mother always has to think twice, once for herself and once for her child.
Sophia Loren
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
