42 DAYS UNTIL SUMMER
Sunrise: 6:15 am

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Lost Sock Memorial Day which recognizes your drawer full of unmatched socks. Each unmatched sock represents a missing sock. We never throw away our unmatched socks. After all, it may show up someday.
On Lost Sock Memorial Day, it's suggested that you spend as little as possible searching for those missing socks. After a brief search, and in good ‘memorial' spirit, spend a minute reflecting upon how warm and comforting the missing socks were on your toes. Then, by all means, get on with your life.
We are encouraged to use this special day, to toss out all of our unmatched socks. Let's face it, we’re never gonna find the missing one.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Some socks are loners They can't live in pairs.
Wendy Cope
This is a crazy holiday to be celebrating, but one we all can appreciate. Lost socks are a part of everyone’s life. Last summer I cleaned out my sock drawer and threw away all of the unmatched socks. To this day I’m proud to say I have nothing but pairs in the drawer.
Every now and then I do find a sock that has clung inside some article of clothing. It was probably a match to one I threw away, but it’s too late now. I even filled a bag full of socks that I hadn’t worn in years and put them in DD’s garage sale last summer. I’ve way too many socks and actually have 3 sock drawers. One for lightweight socks, one for my wool socks that I wear in the winter and one for the short sport socks. The drawers aren’t big ones, but they are all full.
Now I’ve told you all about my socks! TMI, sorry I’ve not much news otherwise today. I did have a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend and hope you all did too!
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday !

Pictures were cute from opening day! Glad to hear you had a nice Mother's Day, Ma!
Nice to hear you have all pairs of socks in your drawers :) That is a good feeling!

I love the idea of a lost sock day! We have a few of those around here. But, the teen girls now wear mismatched socks and call it style. So if the socks belong to Harley she just matches them up as a mis-matched pair!!
I have three lost socks on my dresser right now!
