Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
It’s Mutt’s Day! Today, we celebrate these furry friends. While purebreds come from a lineage of dogs of the same breed, mutts are a mix between two or more breeds. This means that no two mutts are alike, each is unique in its own way! These dogs certainly deserve a day of celebration for their diverse heritage.
To celebrate Mutt’s Day, take your mutt for an extra long walk today. Show your mutt much you appreciate him or her with a few extra treats and toys. Happy Mutt’s Day!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Things A Dog Can Teach Us
Author Unknown
Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.
Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.
When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
Eat with gusto and enthusiasm.
If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
When you leave your yard, make it an adventure.
Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.
Be loyal.
Run, romp and play daily.
Bond with your pack.
When you’re excited, speak up.
When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently.
Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.
When you’re happy, dance around and wag your entire body.
No matter how often you’re scolded, don’t buy into the guilt thing and pout…run right back and make friends.
When it’s in your best interest, practice obedience.
Let others know when they’ve invaded your territory.
Take naps and stretch before rising.
Never pretend to be something you’re not.
Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
On cold nights, curl up in front of a crackling fire.
On hot days, drink lots of water and lay under a shady tree.
I no longer have any pets at all here at my house but I have owned a few mutts in my day. The most unusual mix I had was a Snoodle. A mix of Schnauzer and Poodle. This weekend I’m dog sitting for one of my grand dogs and he’s a mixture of Boxer and Bulldog. He is getting older just like me so I’m sure we’ll both enjoy each others company. We both move pretty slowly. Ha !
Dogs have so many good qualities that I could probably go on for days, but due to the high cost of having one and giving one the attention they deserve, I feel I can no longer give one what is needed. I am thankful for the opportunity to enjoy a grand dog now and then. All of my children have at least one dog and many of them have more than one.
Tonight we’ll see the Blue Moon of July. This is the 2nd full moon this month and because it’s rare to have two full moons in one month, it’s call the Blue Moon. As always I’ll be thinking of all of you, knowing we call all see it, seems to bring us closer.
The rest of pictures today are just some sights around here these dog days of summer.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday !

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !

I also heard with the Blue Moon, its the last one we'll have until 2018. I do like that list of what dogs can teach us; lots of truth in that :) Glad you'll be dog sitting this weekend, Ma! Sounds like a wonderful companion! Pets are great to have around, but like you said, lots of responsibility. Always wise to consider if it is a worthwhile responsibility to take on, especially as we get older.

Loved your tribute to dogs! I don't have one but when I visit my Dad, I always like to walk his dog, Bandy. And THEN, when I call my Dad on the phone, Bandy will hear my voice and tries to lick my Dad's cell phone! Gotta love how honest they are!
