Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is Stay Out of the Sun Day. This holiday encourages us stay cool in the shade, and to give our skin a rest from the hot, damaging rays of the sun.
The sun is directly over head. We're in the middle of summer, when the temperatures are the hottest, and the sun is the brightest. It's not a bad day to take a break from catching all of those rays and stay out of the sun.
Find some fun and relaxing ways to stay in the shade. A hammock strung behind two shady trees sounds like a great way to go!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Someone's sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago.
Warren Buffett
It’s always a good idea to stay out of the sun in the heat of the day. Here at my house the front porch provides the perfect place to be on a hot and sunny afternoon.
I know it’s summer and many of us are still defrosting from a very harsh winter, but if you are going out in the sun, you need to make sure that your skin is protected with appropriate amounts of SPF and hydrated with lots of water. And don’t forget about your scalp! The sun can burn your scalp too. Sunscreen won’t really do much for your hair, but a cute hat can do wonders.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday !
COUNTING MY GIFTS
To sit in the shade on a fine day, and look upon verdure is the most perfect refreshment.
Jane Austen
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
2910. for a hat to wear in the sun
2911. for a shady porch to sit on
2912. for sunshine, it is wonderful
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
The true meaning of life is to plant trees, under whose shade you do not expect to sit.
Nelson Henderson
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

Good reminder to use sunscreen, especially with so many activities planned outside centered on the 4th of July. Today is a kiddie parade downtown and then tomorrow the Frontier Day Parade. Lots of people I understand get sunburnt at that one.

I lost my beautiful 43 year old sister to skin cancer....what a horrible death it was. Never under estimate the damage the sun can do to one's skin.
Happy July 4th to you, dear Pam.
