The 64th annual National Day of Prayer, May 7, 2015, is an annual day of observance held on the first Thursday of May, designated by the United States Congress, when people are asked to turn to God in prayer and meditation. Each year since its inception, the president has signed a proclamation, encouraging all Americans to pray on this day.
For this year, the theme of the widely observed Day of Prayer will be 'Lord, Hear Our Cry' and is accompanied by the Bible verse, 1 Kings 8:28, which reads: Hear the cry and the prayer that your servant is praying in your presence this day.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
I know that the LORD is always on the side of the right. But it is my constant anxiety and prayer that I and this nation should be on the LORDS side.
Abraham Lincoln
The concept of praying for our leaders is not unique to democratic nations, and it did not begin with the United States’ National Day of Prayer. The Bible contains many commands to pray for our leaders, both national and local, secular and religious.
Paul wrote in 1 Timothy 2:1–4, I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
People are often quick to criticize our country and it’s leaders but rarely do they pray for them, but praying for them makes practical sense. Our leaders can affect the conditions we live in and have an impact on our families, our churches, our workplaces, our cities, and our countries
As far as I’m concerned, the right time to say a prayer is anytime. It doesn’t have to be on special days like today.
It seems our Spring has jumped right into summer as we’re to be seeing some days in the 80’s here. Today is to be a sunny one but then we’ll have several rainy ones. Then next week we are to drop back into the 60’s. It’s way too early in the year for us to remain this warm, but I’ll take it while we have it.
I hope you all have a great day ! Happy Thursday !
Faith is not without worry or care, but faith is fear that has said a prayer.

Its nice to have a warm day mixed in with the "cooler" ones; especially if you can spend some time outside :)
It is so true about praying for our leaders; I'm not really good about it; trying to get better about it and praying for the upcoming election in 2016; never too early to start praying!
