Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
May 31st is What You Think Upon Grows Day. The date was chosen to honor one of the pioneers of the modern positive thinking, Norman Vincent Peale, who was born on this day in 1898. Peale was a well known author, speaker, and pastor. It’s true that the more you think on good things, the more optimistic you will feel, and feeling positive and confident will help in just about whatever you do
Think Positive for What You Think Upon Grows
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
What you think upon grows. Whatever you allow to occupy your
mind you magnify in your life. Whether the subject of your
thought be good or bad, the law works and the condition grows.
Any subject that you keep out of your mind tends to diminish
in your life, because what you do not use atrophies. The
more you think of grievances, the more such trials you will
continue to receive; the more you think of the good fortune
you have had, the more good fortune will come to you.
Emmet Fox
One of the best ways I know to think good thoughts is to count your blessings. When you think about all the blessings in your life, you can’t help but be anything but happy. And I think that thankful people are the ones that are happier.
I also try to look on the bright side of every situation, remembering that every day may not be a good one, but there is something good to be found in every day.
Our weather here has really been a roller coaster ride. We seem to be in a pattern where we get cool, then warm up to hot and steamy, then cool down again. Today is one of those cooler days and I can’t help but be thankful for it because that means I won’t need to turn on the air conditioner.
There are so many times that we get stuck in thinking negative thoughts that drag us down, but look for the bright side and count your blessings and you’ll soon find yourself enjoying life more.
I hope you all have a RESTFUL and relaxing Sunday !
COUNTING MY GIFTS
O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures for ever!
Psalms 107: 1
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
2811. for sunsets, they remind me to thankful each day
2812. for all the people in my life that make it so rewarding
2813. for each new day
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
You simply will not be the same person two months from
now after consciously giving thanks each day for the
abundance that exists in your life. And you will have
set in motion an ancient spiritual law: the more you
have and are grateful for, the more will be given you.

A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

So true to count our blessings, Ma. That does put so much into perspective when we realize how fortunate we are and how blessed we are, even in those hard times of life. We are experiencing our first hot days here, supposed to be 90 degrees today. Grateful we have air conditioning. Not sure we'll have to put it on as the house so far hasn't heated up much, but grateful to have it if we need it.

So reassuring, Ma. I've been remiss in keeping up with my 'Thankfulness' journal.
I just noticed where Betty said it was supposed to be 90 degrees in Prescott today. We're only (about) 100 mi. south of them and its supposed to be 107 today. (My poor guest room's beginning to resemble a Chinese laundry, on account I'm reluctant to turn on the clothes dryer!)
