Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is National Hamburger Day! The humble hamburger is a staple of western culture. Burger joints, takeaway food outlets and all night eateries serve them up in their millions with cheese, salad, gherkins and pickles, bacon and sauces. Why not celebrate Hamburger Day by making your own hamburgers.
Happy Hamburger Day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
We all need to make time for a burger once in a while.
Erica Durance
To celebrate today I found a recipe for the best ever Juicy Burger, which offers a simple technique by adding Mayonnaise to the ground beef makes a deliciously juicy burger every time!
1/2 cup Real Mayonnaise
1/2 cup plain dry bread crumbs
1 envelope Onion Soup Mix
2 lbs. ground beef or ground turkey
Combine the mayonnaise, bread crumbs and Soup Mix in a separate bowl then add the mixture into your ground beef or turkey before shaping into 8 patties.
You can also add the goodness of olive oil by using Mayonnaise Dressing with Olive Oil instead. Grill to your desired doneness, throw some lettuce, tomatoes and mayonnaise on the bun and you’re done. Or if you’re a sucker for salsa, try mixing your ground beef instead with ½ onion, 3 Tbsp Real Mayonnaise, 3 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce and 1 Tbsp chili powder. Then top your patties with ½ cup salsa for the juiciest Salsa Burger around.
For more delicious ideas, try adding some of your favorite toppings. For a deliciously creamy barbecue sauce topping, combine 1/4 cup BBQ sauce with 1/2 cup mayonnaise. Spoon on juicy burgers and enjoy! If you’re still not stuffed, beef things up by stuffing your burgers with some of your favorite ingredients. For the perfect compliment to your barbecue burger, stuff your patties with cooked bacon, cheddar cheese and sautéed onions, or for a more savory bite with some kick, try going with chilies, mushroom and pepper jack cheese. If you want to indulge in some Mediterranean fare, put some spinach and feta cheese into your patty, topped with tomatoes and onions for the perfect Greek flare. Whatever your taste, simply layer your stuffing ingredients between two juicy patties, seal the sides and then grill to perfection.
I do love a good burger and these are only a few ideas of the many different ways to fix them. I’ve never had a bad burger yet. I don’t have an outdoor grill so I pan fry them or use my George Forman grill here in the kitchen and either way works just fine.
The pictures today are of our little X factors birthday party. There was plenty of good food to be had there, but there were no burgers, and I don’t think anyone missed them. The theme for the party was Monster Jam.
I hope you all have a great day. Happy Thursday !

What a cute theme for the party! I don't think I ever saw such a theme or a pinata like a monster truck! That cake looked cute too!
