Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
National Night Out is a community/police awareness raising event in the United States, held the first Tuesday of August. It is a designated evening when communities across America come together to take a stand against crime, drugs and disorder in their neighborhoods. So turn your porch light on tonight, it’s National Night Out!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Sometimes just a smile on our face can help to make this world a better place. Stand up for the things that are right. Try to talk things out instead of fight. Lend a hand when you can, get involved this is good. You can help to make a difference in your neighborhood.
Robert Alan
Like many communities our town has developed a Neighborhood Watch. At the beginning of our street we have a sign that says we are participating in the Neighborhood Watch program. Neighbors watching out for neighbors used to be a way of life. Now a days, that is not so much the norm. There are a few of my neighbors I’ve never met. I see them come and go but that is about it. Others have been there a long time and I feel those neighbors would be the ones I could count on.
One neighbor that has recently moved into our vicinity is a ground hog. I should say a ground hog and it’s family. Young ones were seen meandering down the driveway here. Early on we discovered a hole under the fence and saw it visiting the corn feeder left out for our neighborhood squirrels. Now I’ve discovered a hole under my front porch. Not sure if it is that ground hog or not but it is good size. I filled it in and am watching it daily to see if it gets dug out again or not. A groundhog is not what I want for a neighbor at all.
Just another day in my neighborhood. Hopefully you’ll have a terrific Tuesday in yours.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
It’s a beautiful day in this neighborhood.

I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for over a year and have now reached 1900 gifts. On my way to 2000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1916. for good neighbors, I have one right next door
1917. for organizations that help us to watch out for one another
1918. for a shovel to fill in the holes
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Nine Requisites for Contented Living: Health enough to make work a pleasure. Wealth enough to support your needs. Strength to battle with difficulties and overcome them. Grace enough to confess your sins and forsake them. Patience enough to toil until some good is accomplished. Charity enough to see some good in your neighbor. Love enough to move you to be useful and helpful to others. Faith enough to make real the things of God. Hope enough to remove all anxious fears concerning the future.

A bit of love from someone dear…

I did see that the police here, Ma, had a sign up about National Night Out tonight. It is good to keep an eye on in the neighborhood. We just had an intruder in our's the other day; good thing the neighbor across the street was keeping an eye out and called police. Person didn't break into anything, but was looking all around at people's cars. Police were able to tell him not to come back to this area or he would be arrested the next time for trespassing.
Never fun to have a neighbor like a ground hog indeed!
