THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Fairest of the months!
Ripe summer's queen
The hey-day of the year
With robes that gleam with sunny sheen
Sweet August doth appear.
R. Combe Miller
We are not celebrating twins in our family today but we are celebrating the birth of grand babe #21. No news at present, but we should have some before the end of the day. The impending delivery isn’t scheduled now until the afternoon. Apparently it’s very busy at the hospital.
August is already filled with lots of birthdays in our family. We will add another and celebrate ! This will make 5 August birthdays now and 1 anniversary. I’m not sure exactly when I’ll be meeting this new little one as it’s a long distance occasion and one I’ll depend on a ride to get there. I no longer drive long distances.
It will only be a few weeks now till lots of my grandchildren will be returning to school for the 2014-15 school year. Vacations are winding down now and the summer fun is about to end. What ever you are doing, I hope these last days of summer are good ones filled with only good things.
Here at home school doesn’t start until the 25th and the week before that is our county fair. Something I always look forward to as do many.
I hope you all have a fantastic Friday!
PRAYER FOR A NEW BORN BABY’S BIRTHDAY
God bless this precious little one, Keep her safe and sound.
Bless her tiny hands and feet, so she may conquer and defeat.
Brighten up her spiritual eyes, so that she may undoubtedly become wise.
Bless her cute little mouth, So Your name she can shout.
But most of all bless her little mind, to stay heavenly divine.
Oh! And don't forget to bless her parents too
For the big job they got to do.
Amen.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
There shall be eternal summer in the grateful heart.
Celia Thaxter
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for over a year and have now reached 1900 gifts. On my way to 2000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1904. For August, a month filled with celebrations
1905. for summer days, and summer ways
1906. for birthdays to celebrate, Welcome Precious one!
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Observe on what day in August the first heavy fog occurs, and expect a hard frost on the same day in October.
If the first week of August is unusually warm, The winter will be white and long.
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma

Happy New Baby Day Pam! I am praying all goes according to plan and well.! Very exciting! I loved your new baby poem also. So beautiful. Of course I always love all that you post. You have a way with words! xxoo
We are expecting our tenth grandchild, a girl in September. Your sweet poem is going to become part of a gift for her parents... thank you SO MUCH, and here's to good luck for your own impending birth today!
Hoping by now your new little grand daughter has been born and that you get to meet her in person so very soon!
Wise not to drive long distances Ma if you can avoid it. I'm a few years younger than you, but I do tend to avoid myself driving longer distances, I let the menfolk do it :)
