Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
August 12th is Middle Child's Day. It’s a day that gives a little well deserved recognition to the wonderful and special middle child in the family.
The first child is the first child. Beyond a doubt, the first born is a very special occasion. And he, or she, has all of mom and dad for a while before the second child comes along. The final child is and always will be the baby of the family.
It is very fair and fitting that we celebrate, and place into the limelight, the middle child today. Go out and enjoy this day to the fullest. Tell the world about it. Be a little outspoken, and let the world know how great it is to be the middle child.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Other things may change us, but we start and end with family.
Anthony Brandt
Since I was blessed with a large family, there were several children in between the first and the last. 5 middle children so to speak. I loved them all and they all truly have their own personalities. I like to think that each one is very special and unique and hope they all know how special they are to me.
After a few warmer days here we are to cool down in the lower 70’s once again. This is very unusual for almost mid August. Still and all I’ll be enjoying it. If I could choose a perfect temperature, I guess mid 70’s would be it. We don’t need to have the heat on nor do we need to have the air conditioning on and at the price we pay for both of them, this weather is a relief in more than one way for sure.
We are almost in the middle of August, honoring those in the middle today. Remember when you are in the middle of things, there are the many blessings to be found.
I hope you all have a terrific Tuesday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
He that raises a large family does, indeed, while he lives to observe them, stand a broader mark for sorrow; but then he stands a broader mark for pleasure too.
Benjamin Franklin
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for over a year and have now reached 1900 gifts. On my way to 2000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1937. for the many pleasures that far out number my sorrows
1938. for my wonderful large family
1939. for temps that are just about perfect
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Be happy now. Don't wait for something outside of yourself to make you happy in the future. Think how really precious is the time you have to spend, whether it's at work or with your family. Every minute should be enjoyed and savored.
Earl Nightingale
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

I'm the baby of the family and my brother was the middle between two girls, I think he felt special in his own way, but I can imagine a middle child might not feel like that and might feel a little squished :)
We have had different weather this summer too, more muggy than previous ones. They say we are to get a lot of rain this winter, which would be nice :)
