Life is a Special Occasion!

If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
August 11th is Play In The Sand Day. What better way to enjoy a nice day out than to get down to the beach, eat ice cream and relax in the sun? Play In The Sand Day is all about building sandcastles, digging holes and burying your friends!
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
The golden moments in the stream of life rush past us and we see nothing but sand; the angels come to visit us, and we only know them when they are gone.
George Elliot
There aren’t many days left to enjoy playing in the sand or for taking trips to the beach. Our beaches and swimming pools will close when Labor Day arrives. That is not long at all now.
Today’s pictures are a few more of our visit with DS#6 this past weekend and DS#5’s birthday. I took so many that I had to share a few more.
This week will probably be more on the quiet side once more, but we’ll see…
I hope you all have a great start to the new week. Happy Monday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
After a visit to the beach, it's hard to believe that we live in a material world.
Pam Shaw
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for over a year and have now reached 1900 gifts. On my way to 2000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1934. for these wonderful summer days that will soon be over
1935. for sandy beaches and sand boxes too, they provide hours of fun
1936. for sunshine and rain, it takes both to make the flowers grow
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
One cannot collect all the beautiful shells on the beach. One can collect only a few and they are more beautiful if they are a few.
Anne Morrow Lindbergh
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

Such sweet pictures, Ma! I always liked playing in the sand with the kids when they were younger, especially the wet sand by the beach. Something therapeutic working with it I think :)
You are so right, Labor Day is just around the corner. Where did summer go?
