August 22 celebrates National Be An Angel Day.  This is a day for celebrating those who do good deeds and are kind to others.  It is intended to do something nice or kind for someone who is in need of help. The type of angelic help you can offer is not defined or limited. It can be physical, emotional, or spiritual.

Be an Angel Day is for both the giver and the receiver. If you are the receiver, make certain to express openly your appreciation. And, recognize the angel in your life as being sent from God.  

Every day is a good day to be an angel to someone.  Polish off your wings and do a good deed!

If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side

THOUGHT FOR TODAY

Angels are bright lights in the midst of our lives.

I do believe there are angels everywhere and that I have a guardian angel.  Some of the angels in my life have been in human form.  There have been many good people that have helped me out.  

When you think about it, we are angels in training; all we have to do is spread our wings and fly.  There is always some way to be an angel to someone every day.  Good kind people are all around us and we can be one of them.

I’ve noticed that when my little grand’babes’ are first learning to crawl, they point out their feet and spread out their arms and almost look as though they are trying to fly.  They remind me that those dear little ones were once so close to the angels that maybe they are wondering why they are not still flying.   Maybe you'll think that is a silly thought, but not for me.

It’s hard to believe that the end of another week is near.  Tomorrow our chances of rain are to be considerably diminished.  Only a small percentage in the forecast so I’m thinking I may just get a chance to get out to our county fair.  Some of my family are planning to be there so maybe I can at least join them for lunch while they are there.  It surely has been a wet week so far.

COUNTING MY GIFTS

Angels encourage everyone in the right direction...up.

I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for over a  year and have now reached 1900 gifts.  On my way to 2000.  I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting.  There is always, always something to be thankful for.

1967. for all the angels in my life, many thanks to all of you

1968. for the fact that there is an end to the rain in sight

1969. for words of encouragement that lift me up

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS

 

Please pray for God's protection of

our troops and HIS wisdom for their

commanders.

 

Lord, hold our troops in

your loving hands.

Protect them as they protect us.

Bless them and their families for the

selfless acts they perform for us

in our time of need. I ask this in the

name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters

and Paramedics and EMT's

ADVICE FOR TODAY

Angels may not come when you call them, but they'll always be there when you need them.
