THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Celebrate life. Celebrate happiness. Celebrate your birthday. Celebrate that God gives all this to you.
Today is another long distance birthday and I celebrated by putting a card out in the mail for this son of mine. The pictures today are of DS#4 and his family. As I was blessed with a trip to their house this year I do have some recent pictures to share.
This weekend we’ll be celebrating the last of our May birthdays when our little Xfactor turns two. I’ll get to celebrate the last one in person anyway. May has been filled with celebrations from the beginning to the end for sure.
There will only be two June birthdays in my family and for those in my family that want to join in, I’m doing dinner for them on June 8th, so you can mark your calendars for then. It’s not often I can cook up birthday dinners anymore. I would always fix my babes their favorite dinner on their birthdays. DS#4’s was always meatloaf and I know his wife makes a very good meatloaf too. For DD and DS#3 in June I’ll be doing fried chicken and maybe some dumplings too.
Food and celebrations always go together and for this coming weekend, I’m making some homemade mac and cheese, a pasta salad, some deviled eggs and baked beans to add to the mix. I know that there will be plenty of good food for everyone to partake of… and I for one will enjoy it all!
I hope you all have some plans of your own to celebrate in the days ahead. Happy Thursday everyone!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Each day is a gift from God. Make sure that you rip off the wrapping paper and enjoy what is inside.
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for over a year and have now reached over 1600 gifts. On my way to 2000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1691. for DS#4, it’s his birthday today
1692. for good food to share and to eat
1693. for good times with family and friends
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU !
May God bless you every day, every way, everywhere.
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma

Happy Birthday!!!!
Three weeks from today is my birthday... I think you make a layered bean dip that would be good for my birthday... lol...
Hubby and I have a day off today, we are trying to find something fun to do, that is not shopping or yard work... a hike or walk somewhere...
Have a Beautiful Thursday! :)
Happy birthday to your DS#4, Ma. Glad you got to see him recently and spend time with him and his family! I like your tradition of cooking birthday dinners with what your kids liked when they still lived at home or close by. We did a similar thing but the birthday person could choose the restaurant they wanted to eat at. Of course there's only 4 of us and our birthdays are spread out every 3 months, so it was feasible to do something like this.
All the things you are cooking sound good too! I saw on someone's blog a macaroni and cheese with chicken in it; planning to make that next week; it looked interesting.

Happy Birthday to your son. I agree, your meals sound so good. I have about forgot how to cook for more people other than me and the husband ha. Thanks for sharing the pictures you have a lovely family. Jean
