Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
May 24th is Night Baseball Day which commemorates the first professional baseball night game played in Cincinnati, 1935. In honor of Night Baseball Day we can celebrate the things that go 'bunt' in the night!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Progress always involves risks. You can't steal second base and keep your foot on first.

Thanks to electricity we can all enjoy some night baseball and lots of other fun things outdoors at night. It’s been a long time since I was to a night baseball game, but I have always loved baseball.
We will be outside today but shouldn’t need any lights on as the sun is to be out and it’s going to be a nice warm day here too. It is a bit chilly though at only 45 degrees this morning. Today is our little Xfactors 2nd birthday party. The pictures are of his party this time last year. Hopefully I’ll have lots of new pictures to share with you tomorrow which is actually his birthdate. This is just the beginning of our triple header weekend festivities.
It seems like it was around 9 o’clock last night before it was truly dark outside. I love this time of year. The heat has been shut off and there’s been no need for air conditioning. It’s so nice to enjoy the fresh air.
I have bought a few flowers to plant this weekend too. I have a small bed around the star magnolia tree in the front that I’d planted annuals in before but now have planted some ground cover there that will come up every year. And I put a blooming vine similar to a trumpet vine in the old wheelbarrow out back. And for the two pots that sit by the back steps I got some parsley sage basil and rosemary. I’ll have a little herb garden outside the back door. Other than that I won’t be planting much, just weeding and caring for what comes up here every year.
I hope your Memorial Day Weekend is off to a great start and that you have a super Saturday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Things could be worse. Suppose your errors were counted and published every day, like those of a baseball player.

I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for over a year and have now reached over 1600 gifts. On my way to 2000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1697. for a party to go to and to enjoy time outdoors
1698. for a little herb garden outside the door
1699. for lights, we’d be in the dark without them
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off... the right pitch will come, but when it does, be prepared to run the bases.

A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

I'm envious! We live in Nashville and it's already in the mid-80s every single day. But we have air conditioning. I just try to be indoors as much as possible! I'm not a fan of the extreme heat.
I love the picture of your family that were together to celebrate Little X's birthday last year! What a cute theme too! Hard to imagine he is 2 years old already! It gets dark here around 8 o'clock; the latest it will stay light will be about 8:45, but I remember in Montana it could be close to 10 o'clock, that's why fireworks on the 4th of July would go off at 10:15 p.m.
