Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
On the 3rd Saturday in May every year, we celebrate Armed Forces Day. This is simply a day to salute all of the men and women in all branches of the service who protect our country and you. They can be called upon at a moment's notice to perform a risky and perilous mission for freedom and country. They train diligently both physically and mentally so they will be prepared to prevail in any mission they face.
Hip, Hip Hooray! It’s Armed Forces Day!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave.
Elmer Davis
It’s just one short week from now that we’ll be celebrating Memorial Day weekend But on Armed Forces Day we remember all the members currently serving in our military. While Memorial Day is about our fallen and Veterans Day about our retired military, this is a day when we honor the men and women who are working for our country every day.
The end of May here is a very busy time for my family. Today I’ll be going down to DS#1’s for our Princess's Confirmation. Next weekend we’ll have a baptism to celebrate, a birthday party to go to, and a baby shower to attend. These days are going to be very happy ones indeed!
The pictures today were taken from the front porch on one of our many rainy days this week. Today is cooler but supposed to be partly sunny.
I hope you all have a super Saturday and don’t forget to salute our heroes and our she-ros too!
How important it is for us to recognize and celebrate our heroes and she-roes!

COUNTING MY GIFTS
Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.
William Arthur Ward
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for over a year and have now reached over 1600 gifts. On my way to 2000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1676. for our military men and women who give there best for us everyday.
1677. for family fun days to look forward to
1678. for answered prayers, our God is always good!
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU !

I love that quote, "He loves his country best who strives to make it best". Thank you for that!
And we should honor our Armed Forces everyday! Funny, I just read about the history of that day just this week!
And I want to come and sit beside you on your lovely front porch, it looks so peaceful and nice.
I enjoyed looking at the pictures of the rainy areas, Ma; something we didn't see much of this year.
Lots of fun in celebrating over the next few weeks for you and your family; I know you will enjoy it all.
I saw on our calendar that today is Armed Forces Day; I think it is neat there is a day to honor those presently serving!

I too love the quote Pam! It is so true! I come from a long line of military people. My Father and ex husband served our country and of course my Todd and now my son serves. I pray for all the soldiers of the allies and their families every day. They do so much for us. We must never take their hard work and sacrifice for granted.
