Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today we celebrate Lost Sock Memorial Day. Lost Sock Memorial Day recognizes your drawer full of unmatched socks. Each unmatched sock represents a missing sock. We never throw away our unmatched socks. After all, it may show up someday.
Its a good day to spend a little time searching for those missing socks in good ‘Memorial’ spirit, reflecting upon how warm and comforting the missing socks were. Then, by all means, get on with your life.
Use this special day, to toss out all of your unmatched socks. Let's face it, you're never gonna find the missing one.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
If you don't get lost, there's a chance you may never be found.

I started thinking about what I could do with all the socks of mine and have no hope of ever finding their pair. and here’s what I’ve come up with: some of the socks I’ve turned into dust rags. I put my hand in the sock and great for cleaning in small crevices. Far more environmentally friendly than using paper towels. Then I took some of the prettier socks and filled them with dried lavender and secured the open end to use as scent sachets with my sweaters and in closets and it smells so good!.
So take the time to reflect on the fallen and the lost of the socks of our lives... and then gather and collect your sad sock singletons and give them a reason to live…a new purpose in life, as a dust rag, drink sleeve, change purse, sock monkey, heating or cooking pad, or eyeglass case. Cut the toes from your single socks and sew them together in a long tube. Stuff the tube with dryer lint and use it as a door stopper. Today is the day to repurpose those single socks and make room for new couples of socks.
Just like when looking for lost socks, we often spend a lot of time on things that really don’t matter. Thankfully those socks are not going to make or break our life. Some times we get all a twitter over things that don’t really matter. A day like today reminds us to appreciate what really does matter in our lives and to use our time wisely. Better to do a little something for someone else than to sit by ourselves having our own little pity party over a lost sock or two.
My thought for the day is why do we hold on to things in our lives when they are not useful or good for us, yet like my socks we keep them in our lives. Why not live every day like you're at the beach with a sock free existence! Barefoot !
Since I don’t have any pictures of socks or bare feet, today’s picture are of my lilac tree blooming last year. I’m still waiting for it to bloom this year.
I hope you all have a fanatically good and sock free Friday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS

I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for over a year and have now reached 1600 gifts. On my way to 2000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1652. for my socks, I love how they keep my feet warm in the winter
1653. for warmer weather to go without socks
1654. for things to repurpose and use a little differently

Gorgeous blooms from last year, Ma; I'm sure you're waiting eagerly for the blooms this year! How cute with a lost sock day. I know we seem to have a few that happen and I really would like to solve the problem of where they do, LOL, since the washer and drier are empty between loads, but sometimes a stray sock is missing. Koda is not one to chew on things so I know its not him. A sock gremlin indeed! Good idea to use them though as dust rags!
