NATIONAL IT'S MY PARTY DAY

It's My Party Day is today. Let's have a party and celebrate. Do you really need a reason to have a party? Me neither, so let's get this party started!
What a great opportunity to have some fun. It's a party day. You can make it simple, or elaborate. Invite family and friends. Being mid-October, a Fall or Halloween theme is in order.

Life is too short. Today is  It's My Party Day. So, let's party on into the night!

Celebrate the happiness that friends are always giving. Make every day a holiday and celebrate just living!

NEW IN THE KITCHEN

NATIONAL SAUSAGE PIZZA DAY!

Today is National Sausage Pizza Day, honoring the second most ordered meat topping, after pepperoni, that Americans crave!

QUICK SAUSAGE PIZZA

2 tablespoons olive oil
1 small zucchini, sliced 
3/4 cup diced kielbasa sausage
4 mushrooms, sliced
1/4 cup chopped drained oil-packed sun-dried tomatoes
1 teaspoon dried basil, crumbled
1 tablespoon chopped fresh oregano

2 small Boboli pizza shells
1/4 cup purchased pizza sauce
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup grated mozzarella cheese
2 ounces goat cheese, crumbled

Heat oil in heavy large skillet over medium-low heat. Add zucchini, sausage and mushrooms and saute until vegetables are almost tender, about 5 minutes. 

Add sun-dried tomatoes and saute until vegetables are tender, about 3 minutes longer. Remove skillet from heat; stir in basil and oregano. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Arrange pizza shells on small cookie sheet. Spread half of pizza sauce over each. Sprinkle each with half of Parmesan. Divide vegetable mixture between pizzas. Top each with half of mozzarella and half of goat cheese. Bake until mozzarella melts and pizzas are heated through, about 9 minutes.

AROUND HOME

Life moves pretty fast.  If you don't stop to look around once in a while you could miss it.

I am gathering my party decorations together for this coming weekend.  It'll be Trick or Treat night at the campground.  We also do a chili cook off and they have hay rides and a haunted house.  Now all we need is some nice weather.  

It seems my family has been busy planning the holidays that will soon be coming up too.  DD emailed that they would be hosting our family Thanksgiving at their house this year, then DS#5 and his wife will be having our Family Christmas and DS#3 and his wife will be having our Easter celebration at their house.

Talk about time going by fast...with such a large and still growing family, I guess we need to make plans ahead so everyone can coordinate their calendars..  

  My place is just too small for everyone and they graciously have all offered their homes for the family get togethers.  I don't mind at all because I know their homes are much larger and there is room for everyone to gather.

The important thing is that we do try to be all together.  Holidays are a time for family.
