For Monday, June 6th, 2011
Everyone knows gardening is therapeutic. It's good for the mind, body, and soul. Gardening Exercise Day gives us an opportunity to go out and burn off calories and have fun doing it. National Gardening Exercise Day is intended to recognize the important physical health benefits of gardening.
In reality, gardening is exercise. Experts say the various activities and tasks of gardening ultimately uses all of the major muscle groups. In addition, strenuous gardening activities such as raking, hoeing, and digging is both aerobic and muscle strengthening.
Take time today to celebrate one of America's favorite hobbies. Go out and exercise with, and among, your plants
2 - 10 oz, cans cream of mushroom soup
1- 15 oz, can garden peas
1- 12 oz. can white albacore tuna in water, drained
3 cups of shredded white cheddar cheese
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Prepare pasta according to the box directions. While the pasta’s water is boiling, mix together the soup, peas, tuna, and 2 cups of cheese. Drain pasta and pour into a 9″ x 13″ baking dish. Add the tuna mixture and blend with the pasta. Cover with the rest of the cheese. Slide into the oven and bake for 20 minutes.
Serve with a green salad and biscuits
If you enjoy gardening, try to ignite this spark in someone else, regardless of how young or old even if all you do is get them to put a few seeds or plants in a pot.
When you come home and are worn out, STOP, take a few minutes, go outside, work for a short time in your yard. You will be surprised at how much better you feel. If you are angry, impatient, nervous, unhappy, or sad, gardening is the answer. Take your emotions out on the weeds, prune the shrubs, deadhead the flowers, cut down that plant you don't like or want, or just dig in the soil. Mother Nature is a great healer.
Give me odorous at sunrise a garden of beautiful flowers where I can walk undisturbed

I noticed your countdown to summer; it says 16 days until . . . yesterday it was 101 here in Louisiana! I'd love to be outside more, but it is SO hot! We're hoping for some showers to cool things off and to soak the dry yards and gardens.
Hope you have a pleasant week!
I love gardening and that tuna casserole looks fabulous! Yay summer! I can't wait!! xxoo
