TODAY'S THOUGHT
Did you ever stop to think, and forget to start again?
Winnie the Pooh
JUST FOR TODAY
We all need to look for the silver linings in our day-to-day lives
Just for today: I will remember that God's love never fails. It is in times of loss and disappointment that we need God the most and godly love endures beyond life’s hurts by pulling us relentlessly toward the never-diminishing care of the Father
TODAY’S QUOTE
Never be afraid to sit awhile and think.
Lorraine Hansberry, A Raisin in the Sun
IT’S WEDNESDAY !!
OVER THE HUMP DAY!
I’m always saying I learn something new every day and so I thought I’d share a couple things with you that I recently found out. We have had sedum growing in our flower beds for several years now and I found out that there are lots of varieties. This is the picture of the one we have
We also have this one, I just didn’t know that it is also called sedum. Amazingly I found there are lots more varieties of sedum too.
The other thing I learned is about Japanese Beetles. Last week I spied a few of them on our bushes in the back yard and I did a search on the internet to see how to get rid of them. I had thought about buying one of those beetle bags but found out that if you are not in a neighborhood where every one has them, you’ll only attract more from nearby yards if you hang one out. Seven dust is successful in getting rid of them but the most recommended way is to pick them off and put them in a jar of soapy water.
Good thing I read the article first. I wouldn’t want to attract more than we already had. Anyway since then I haven’t seen any more. The few I saw apparently found somewhere else to go. But if they return I now know how to get rid of them.
I really do learn something new every day. They say you don’t really get old til you stop learning so I guess I won’t be old for awhile yet.
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !
TODAY’S PRAYERS
O Lord, help us to see our opportunities to help others
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
GOD BLESS YOU !
TODAY’S TRIVIA
Today is St. Swithin’s Day. According to English legend, if it rains today, it will rain for the next 40 days
Today is National Tapioca Pudding Day
Today is Gummi Worm Day
Today is Cow Appreciation Day. And, that's no bull! But, it is something to "Moo" about. Pause for a moment to think about cows, and all that they do for us.
Now that we've had our moment of silence, it's time to celebrate. Have an ice cold glass of milk. Add chocolate syrup, if you prefer. Then, fire up the grill, and cook some burgers or a steak. And, don't forget to get your fill of cheese.
TODAY’S SMILE
Keep SMILING
Everyone has that special someone in their life, someone who just seems to make everything better: The sun is warmer, the sky seems bluer, the grass looks greener, flowers couldn't be more beautiful; all because of that certain wonderful individual. Yes, the whole world just seems better whenever that person is around. I guess there's no denying it... You are darned lucky to have a friend like Me
WORDS TO LIVE BY AS WE MATURE:
One of life's mysteries is how a two-pound box of candy can make a person gain five pounds.
Brain cells come and brain cells go, but fat cells live forever.
Life not only begins at forty, it begins to show.
Amazing! You just hang something in your closet for a while, and it shrinks two sizes.
It is bad to suppress laughter; it goes back down and spreads to your hips.
Inside some of us is a thin person struggling to get out, but she can usually be sedated with a few pieces of chocolate cake.
If at first you don't succeed, see if the loser gets anything.
Stress reducer: Put a bag on your head. Mark it "Closed for remodeling." . . . . caution - leave air holes.
Perhaps you know why women over fifty don't have babies: They would put them down somewhere and forget where they left them.
Growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional.
TODAY’S REFLECTION
All things have been delivered to me by my Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and any one to whom the Son chooses to reveal him
Matthew 11:27
Jesus thanks the Father in heaven for revealing to his disciples the wisdom and knowledge of God. Jesus contrasts intellectual pride with child-like simplicity and humility. The simple of heart are like "babes" in the sense that they see purely without pretense and acknowledge their dependence and trust in the one who is greater, wiser, and more trustworthy. Jesus makes it possible for each of us to personally know God as our Father. To see Jesus is to see what God is like. In Jesus we see the perfect love of God – a God who cares intensely and who yearns over men and women, loving them to the point of laying down his life for them upon the Cross

We have problems with snails and slugs in England in our Gardens Ma.Far too many and more and more this yr than ever I have known. You can buy slug pellets which kill them. But I found yes you do draw other peoples to your garden by sprinkling these so for yrs now I have found the best way to rid of them is to sprinkle salt around the edge of flower pots and garden beds and they cannot cross it and come out alive at the other side.Sorry it sounds so cruel but I hate them and they chew at almost everything.I loved todays smile and the special person story LOL!!We certainly cannot do without you Dear Freind.Keep up the good work on blogger I love to read you when I find the time.Take care God Bless Kath xx
