ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!
Today is National Honey Bee Awareness Day! Let's celebrate and show our appreciation for the hard working Honey Bee, who works so hard to produce the liquid sugary treat, that is loved so much by bees and humans.
These hard working bees have to travel 55,000 miles to produce just one pound of honey. To get that pound of honey, those bees need to gather nectar from two million flowers. A single bee will gather just 1/2 teaspoon of honey in its lifetime. After all of this hard work, honey bees deserve this special day of recognition.
This day was first established in 2009 for beekeepers, as a way to promote honey and to encourage educational programs. But, this is too special a day to limit to the beekeepers. We appreciate hard working honey bees, too. After all, they produce honey that we enjoy, and they are vital to the pollination of a wide array of our fruits and vegetables.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
When I add a spoon of honey to my tea, I give thanks to a dozen bees for the work of their whole lives. When my finger sweeps the final drop of sweetness from the jar, I know we've enjoyed the nectar from over a million flowers. This is what honey is: the souls of flowers, a food to please the gods. Honey eaters know that to have a joyful heart one must live life like the bees, sipping the sweet nectar from each moment as it blooms. And Life, like the world of honey, has its enchantments and stings….
I do love honey and there is many ways to use it. My favorite way is to put it in my tea. You can cook with it, bake with it and enjoy it just as it is on a biscuit with butter. You can even mix it with your butter to make honey butter. If you haven’t tried it, it is delicious.
There is an old saying that we should busy as a bee. They are hard workers, Bees make honey while the sun shines, they store the extra food when times are good as they know that there may be leaner times around the corner. We’d all be better off if we followed this wise lesson from the bees.
Weekends seem to be coming faster and faster these days. I don’t have any big plans at all except for church tomorrow. We may have some rain today, but it’s to be sunny tomorrow.
The pictures today are from a few years ago. I haven’t seen many bees around here but they loved the cone flowers I used to have.
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday!
