ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

4 DAYS UNTIL WINTER
Sunrise: 7:48 am
Sunset: 5:00 pm
Life is a Special Occasion!
Today is National Maple Syrup Day. This holiday provides us with the opportunity to enjoy and appreciate this delicious American treat. This sweet and unique flavor originated in America. Native American Indians were the first to harvest and boil the sap of the maple tree into a thick syrup.
Watching or participating in a maple sap harvest, or demonstration, is a fun late winter event. They are held in February and March, when the sap is flowing. It is educational for the kids, too. During field demonstrations, some of the sap is boiled down into syrup. Best of all, free samples are often giving, poured over a pancake or vanilla ice cream.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Happiness is maple syrup on vanilla ice cream
I love maple syrup over vanilla ice cream and that is what the pictures are of today. It’s one of my favorite winter time snacks. Somehow it doesn’t taste half as good any other time of the year. I’m sure I’ll be stretching out the stretch pants before this winter is over. Ha !
Hopefully I’ll be getting my packages in the mail today. Thankfully DS#5 came through with some boxes for me to use. I’ve errands to run and groceries to get too, so it’ll be a busy day here.
I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!
8 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS
Keep holiday decor supplies close at hand with this simple, sneaky solution: an under the tree storage box. Select a pretty holiday gift box with a removable lid. Put all fuses, replacement light bulbs and extra ornament hooks inside the box, add a gift bow and slide it beneath the tree. Next time you need to replace a light bulb or add a new ornament to the tree, grab the box. It'll hold and hide all the holiday supplies you need.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Gifts of time and love are surely the basic ingredients of a truly merry Christmas.
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
2318. for Maple syrup a yummy treat
2319. for ice cream, delicious
2320. for Christmas movies on TV, I watched the Miracle on 34th Street again
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!

My advice to you is not to inquire why or whither, but just enjoy your ice cream while it's on your plate.
