Decide to be happy today, to live with what is yours – your family, your business, your job, your luck. If you can’t have what you like, maybe you can like what you have.
Just for today, be kind, cheerful, agreeable, responsive, caring, and understanding. Be your best, dress your best, talk softly, and look for the bright side of things. Praise people for what they do and do not criticize them for what they cannot do. If someone does something stupid, forgive and forget. After all, it’s just for one day.
Who knows, it might turn out to be a nice day.

Celebrate today, longer days are ahead!
Yeah, we too notice we have more sunlight down here in Florida vs NC. Enjoyed the info on the post today and want to thank you for the comments on the Shipslog. YES segregation was a terrible thing but so normal when that is all you knew. Funny that, for a short period in my life down here in the south, black kids were my closest friends when I was 4-6 yrs old in the country.
The Winter Solstice is one of my favorite days of the year! ... but I have to admit, I'm going to miss the longer nights. What counts I suppose is having a safe, warm home to return to at day's end.
I am so thankful for the Winter Solstice and that the days will be getting longer. You will really enjoy Florida.
