Today is International Sons Day and also is  International Daughters Day which celebrate our sons and daughters and all the joy they bring to their parent’s lives.  

Let this day remind us of the impact of the qualities of respect and commitment to them as they grow.  It’s an opportunity to celebrate your children at any age.  

Celebrate today and let your sons and your daughters know how much they mean to you today.

THOUGHT  FOR TODAY

While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is about.

I have 6 sons and one daughter so I am definitely celebrating today.  I don’t know what I’d do without any one of them.  They are my life and the reason I wake up everyday.  They also motivate me to be a better person.  

I have one son and my daughter who live in Texas with me.  There is 4 sons that live in Ohio and one who lives in Florida. 

They are all married and have homes of their own and their spouses are just like extended family, more daughters and another son. I live in Texas with my only daughter and her family.  

My daughter and her family went to the fair yesterday and were very disappointed.  Compared to the fair we had back home, they said it was very small with not a whole lot to see and they didn’t offer much in the way of food, but they did bring me back a delicous funnel cake.  We used to go to the fair just to eat the delicious food they had. 

The mornings here have been on the cool side, in the 60’s but it’s still getting up into the 90’s in the afternoon hours.  So far that’s the only sign of fall I’ve seen here.

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS

Please pray for God's protection of

our troops and HIS wisdom for their

commanders.

 

Almighty and eternal God,

Protect our military

as they discharge their duties

with the shield of your strength,

may the power of your love

enable them to return home in safety

that with all who love them

they may ever praise you for your loving care.

AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters and EMT’s.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.
