The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades.  May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks,  and boring grays of your every day.

Today is  Earth Day which is intended to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth’s natural environment.  It was founded by U.S. senator  Gaylord Nelson as an environmental teach in, first held April 22nd, 1970.  The first Earth Day was focused on the United States, an organization launched by Denis Hayes who  was the original national coordinator in 1970, to an enter international in 1990 and organized events in 141 nations.

It is now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network, and is celebrated in more than 175 countries every year.  

Many celebrate the whole week with activites focused environmental issues. 

Celebrate today and see what you can do to make the world a better place !

Protecting our environment is so important as we want our planet go be around for generations to come.

There are all kinds of ways to do so, even if it is only cleaning up trash in your own neighborhood.

Our landfills are full of things that should have been recycled.  It’s easy enough to recycle things and we should all try to do our part. 

Avoiding excessive  use of paper products will help to save trees.  Using cloth shopping bags that you can use over and over and not plastic bags is another good thing to do.

Today, we have to run to the grocery store to pick up a few things and also stop to pick up my prescriptions.  We were going to do it yesterday, but ran out of time.

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS

Please pray for God's protection of

our troops and HIS wisdom for their

commanders.

 

Almighty and eternal God,

Protect our military

as they discharge their duties

with the shield of your strength,

may the power of your love

enable them to return home in safety

that with all who love them

they may ever praise you for your loving care.

AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters and EMT’s.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.
