Today is also National Garlic Day which celebrates the stinking rose and promotes the many uses of Garlic. It is widely used around the world for it’s pungent flavor as a seasoning or condiment. Garlic cloves are used, raw or cooked, for medicinal purposes and sweetens considerably with cooking. It is also a fundamental component in many dishes of various regions.
Garlic has been used as both food and medicine in many cultures for thousands of years, dating at least as far back as when the Giza pyramids were built. It its claimed to prevent heart disease and cancer. Animal studies and some early research studies in humans have suggested possible cardiovascular benefits of garlic.
Garlic is known for causing bad breath as well as sweat to have a pungent garlicky smell. Mouthwash or breath mints are not particularly effective since the sulfurous compound are absorbed in the bloodstream and exit the body through the lungs and skin. Studies conducted at Ohio State University have shown that drinking milk can reduce garlic breath.
To celebrate today enjoy a dish flavored with garlic. Mmmm good!
If you cannot see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
The secret ingredient to every meal is love
And also garlic.

I won’t be seeing this sister today unless I call her and use the feature called FaceTime. I just called her the other day when it was their anniversary, so lucky her, she’s going to be talking to me again today. I did get her a card and sent it out in the mail filled with love and birthday wishes.
Garlic is one seasoning I use regularly. Some things just wouldn’t be the same without it.
I like it in my spaghetti sauce and on a pork roast. Plus there are many other dishes that call for garlic!
I don’t usually used fresh garlic bulbs but use the minced garlic you find where spices are sold. It still gives a good flavor to things.
I do remember smelling garlic breath when some coworkers went to lunch and they’d come back from lunch smelling heavily of garlic. We always knew where they’d gone to lunch by their smell. It wasn’t so much their breath but their clothing smelled like garlic .
I got a bad news call from the doctor’s office yesterday and they said my test results show I’m back to stage 4 kidney disease so he is referring me to a specialist at the San Antonio Kidney Center. I need to call and make an appointment soon. I wasn’t expecting this as I feel as good as ever.
Today we’re going to the Outlet Mall close to here. One of the items I purchased last week has one of those horrid tags on that is supposed to alert shops of theft. I didn’t steal it and have my receipt to prove it. Hopefully they will remove it for me, I can’t do it myself. And no, an alarm didn’t sound at all when I walked out the door. I wish it had so this trip didn’t have to be made again.
I had my first 90 degree day here yesterday. It really didn’t seem that hot to me, but I was in the shade on the porch with a nice breeze blowing. They got a ceiling fan for the porch, but with the nice breeze blowing, it wasn’t really needed.
So far I like the Texas heat here ! It doesn’t feel the same way when it was 90 in Ohio.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!

Celebrate]ng sisters everywhere today, It's my sister's birthday!
Happy 😃 Birthday 🥳
Happy Birthday to your sis(ters). I'm guessing they were twins?
Thankfully, my family enjoys garlic as much as I do! I never thought about it permeating my skin and clothes, however. At least, if my friends with sensitive noses are put off, they're too polite to say anything. LOL.
I'm sorry to hear about the kidney diagnosis, but hopefully the specialists can get to the bottom of things in short order. And, it may be a fluke! That very thing happened to a church friend last month -- his echocardiogram showed 70% blockage which was a total SHOCK since he had vascular surgery not a year ago. They repeated the test, this time with contrast, and it came back 0% blockage.
Happy birthday to your sister.
I like garlic but it really bothers my esophagus area.
I am so sorry about your kidney diagnosis - get thee to a doctor right away -
