The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades.  May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks,  and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Tell a Story Day which celebrates story telling of all kinds.  Libraries celebrate this day with story telling hours for kids.  Story telling is the conveying of words, images, and sounds, often by improvisation or embellishment.  Stories or narratives  have been shared in every culture  as a means of entertainment, education, cultural preservation and to instill moral values.  

Crucial elements of stories and story telling include plot, characters, and narrative points of view.  

To celebrate today, tell a story or listen to one.  It’s important we keep passing the old stories on.

I’ve listened to and told many stories in my lifetime.  Some were true and some fiction. 

When we were camping, the kids loved to tell ghost stories as we went around the circle and each one added a new part to the story.  We enjoyed many scary nights thanks to them.

My parents and grand parents would sit at the table for hours with their coffee and tell stories of their life.  I always loved listening to them.

One thing I know for sure, is that you don’t need a book to tell a story.  

DS#2 is having a get together today for family and friends,  I’m sure there will be many stories told there, because that is what we do.  He is making crawfish and BBQ Beef and I made a bowl of Macaroni Salad to share. No matter where I am, it seems very one loves it!  It’s the perfect dish for picnics and parties.

Remember to keep on telling the stories and listen to others stories too. Just like my pictures today, each one tells a story,

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS

Please pray for God's protection of

our troops and HIS wisdom for their

commanders.

 

Almighty and eternal God,

Protect our military

as they discharge their duties

with the shield of your strength,

may the power of your love

enable them to return home in safety

that with all who love them

they may ever praise you for your loving care.

AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters and EMT’s.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.
