The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades.  May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks,  and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Make Up Your Own Holiday which is an opportunity to make your own holiday! To make it anything you want.  Holidays are designated as having a special significance for individuals, a government, or religious group have deemed that an observance is warranted.

Unofficial holidays are not traditionally marked on calendars.  These are celebrated by various groups and individuals.  Some promote a cause, others recognize historical events not officially recognized, and other area funny holidays celebrated with a humorous intent.

To celebrate this day, come up with a creative, meaningful, or quirky idea for a holiday.  Celebrate it’s first celebration at home or share it with some friends.

If you cannot see the bright side, polish the dull side

Today I’m celebrating my own holiday which  I’ve named:  Rainy Day.  We can always make own own sunshine on a rainy day and my last name is Rainey, which I am proud of.  My marriage to my husband gave me a new last name.  All of my children are Rainey’s and  they too love a Rainy Day! We have even had shirts with our name on them to make us stand out when we go some place together.

My youngest son also named his website for his business Little Rainey, he is a graphic artist and had done work for companies like Highlights, the company that provides magazines like Jack and Jill.  He has even created and sold his own books on Cut, Color and Create. He has also done artwork for other author’s books.

DS#5 also has a side business he calls Rainy Day Art in which he does Character Portraits for people.  He has been to the state fair and our county fair, doing his own kind of art.

Today is also National Spinach Day which celebrates nutritious and delicious Spinach. I use in a lot of my cooking and enjoy it by itself too.

12,192. for Rainy Days, an opportunity to get the housework done.

12,193. for nutritious and delicious Spinach

12,194.  for ways to make our own sunshine on cloudy days 

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS

Please pray for God's protection of

our troops and HIS wisdom for their

commanders.

 

Almighty and eternal God,

Protect our military

as they discharge their duties

with the shield of your strength,

may the power of your love

enable them to return home in safety

that with all who love them

they may ever praise you for your loving care.

AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters and EMT’s.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.
