Hallmark!
Today is Tell a Fairy Tale Day which is all about letting your imagination roam free. Read fairy tales to your kids, or just read them for fun!
There are countless stories to choose from: Little Red Riding Hood, Hansel and Gretel, and the Princess and the Pea are whimsical fairy tales that have entertained children and adults alike for many years.
A fairy tale is traditionally a short story with mythical and fantastic characters such as elves, fairies, gnomes and more. These stories are meant to enchant readers.
Celebrate today and gather with family of friends to read aloud your favorite fairy tales together. Sprark children’s creativity and encourage them to write one of their own!
If you cannot see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
If you see the magic in a fairy tale, you can face the future.
Danielle Steel
I have read and told many fairy tales over the years. Children love it when you read to them and often become good readers themselves, because you read to them.
I am one that loves romance books because they are like fairy tales when they live happily ever after.
I remember one time when I was riding in the car with DS#1 and his daughter, she was amazed because I could tell her a fairy tale without having a book in front of me. I had memorized most of them from reading them to my children over and over again.
It’s going to be a busy week here, finishing the packing and getting the house ready for the sale coming up in March. There is a lot to do. DS#5 will probably be here this evening to help me.
The pictures today are ones I took a few years ago at o local garden store.
We’re to be in the 50’s today which is not normal at all for us here in Ohio, in February. It is usually very cold and snowy. Instead of snow we’re to get rain. Just a couple of days ago we were below freezing.
Today is also National Pistachio Day.
It’s Monday and today I’m cooking up something new. On the menu is:
Italian Beef and Shells
Makes 4 servings
1 1/2 cups uncooked pasta shells
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
1 jar, 24 oz. Marinara Sauce
1 yellow summer squash, quartered and sliced
1 zucchini, quartered and sliced
1/4 cup beef broth
1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp. pepper
Cook pasta according to package directions.
Meanwhile in a Dutch oven, cook the beef, onion and garlic over medium heat until meat is no longer pink, crumble beef; drain. Stir in marinara sauce, squash, zucchini, broth and seasonings. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered, until thickened.
Drain pasta and stir into beef mixture and heat through.
1 3/4 cup equals 1 serving.
You could substitute red and yellow bell peppers instead of squash.
I substituted bow tie pasta for the shells as it is what I had on hand.
It sounds delicious to me and includes everything you need for a meal in one pan. It’s an excellent way to include some healthy veggies.
We are to be partly cloudy today with rain moving in later on in the day. Tuesday and Wednesday are supposed to be rainy too, but still warmer than is average for February.
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday !

Celebrate today and discover some wonderful, magical fairy tales!
Fairy Tale Day - I can recite some fairy tails too!
Pistachio - have you ever had spumoni? I can't get it here - but I love it!
Yay for fairy tales!
I actually made a mug-FULL of Pistachios my supper last night. For some reason it's hard to find the unsalted variety, but that way I don't feel so guilty or bloated.
