Hallmark!
Today is Do a Grouch a Favor Day which is when we try to do a grouchy person a favor that will delight his whole day. Maybe the fact of experiencing something good, like a stranger doing him a favor will astonish him so much that will change his behavior.
There are some reasons a grouch became that way, try to be comprehensive and show him not everything is a reason to complain. Today is a chance to get in touch. Take a close look and find out what kind of favor is the best for that grouchy person in your life.
Celebrate today try to be kind and smile at a grouchy person and see if their attitude doesn’t change. Do him a favor and make the world a better place.
If you cannot see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
The talent for being happy is appreciating and liking what you have, instead of what you don’t have.
Woody Allen
I hope today is good one for you and you can find a little kindness in your heart for a grouchy person. When my children were little and got grouchy, I’d tickle them until they would laugh. By the time they were laughing, they forgot all about whatever was making them grouchy. There is truly nothing like a good laugh to make you feel better.
Life is too short to be anything but happy. Don’t be a grouch and turn those frowns upside down and smile!
You could find out what their favorite baked good is and surprise them with it.
Just listening to them grumble will help you to find out what has made them grochy.
Some people needed a visit with friends so they don’t feel so bad. A short visit full of love can turn around their whole day.
Today I’m smiling and hoping your day goes well. As usual I’m cooking something new. And since it is Lent it will be meatless. On the menu is :
Black Bean Quesadillas
Makes 4 servings
1 15 oz. can black beans or pinto beans, rinsed
1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack or Cheddar Cheese.
1/2 cup prepared salsa
4 8 inch whole wheat or corn tortillas
1 Tsp canola oil, divided
1 ripe avocado diced
Combine beans, cheese and 1/4 cup salsa in a bowl. Place tortillas on a work surface. Spread 1/2 cup filling on half of each tortilla. Fold tortillas in half, pressing gently to flatten.
Heat 1 tsp. oil in a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add 2 quesadillas and cook turning once, until golden on both sides. Transfer to a serving platter and tent with foil to keep warm. Repeat with remaining 1 tsp. oil and quesadillas. Serve with avocado, sour cream and the remaining salsa.
I’ll be having mine with guacamole dip on the side as I didn’t have an avocado. I prefer pinto beans over black beans so will also be using them.
This will make an easy dinner for me. If you prefer some heat in yours you could use Pepper Jack cheese.
We are colder today and could have a few snow flurries. It is still winter in Ohio. No early spring here.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday !

Do a Grouch a Favor Day - I know lots of grouches - I have to get busy!
I remember reading something recently about a grouchy grocery store cashier. A man in line pretended to be studying the candy and asked her, "What do you recommend?"
She appeared surprised but answered him. Next thing she knows, after he pays for the candy he turned around and gave it to her (to brighten her day). Isn't that sweet?
