Today is Beginning of Meterological Autumn 2023 which celebrates the third season of the year. It’s all about harvest, golden leaves, to the feasts such as Halloween and Thanksgiving. Often the beginning of fall is a time of a furious change in the weather, cold fronts make the temperature sink. But when autumn comes along with warm and sunny days and cool nights, People call this Indian Summer.
There is a meteorological and an astronomical beginning of the autumn season The meteorological season are standerd according to the months of the year and always start on the first day of a month. In the decades before we had computers this way statistics could have been made up easier. On the Northern Hemisphere, September, October and November belong to the meteroligical autumn.Whereas the astronomic point of view starts with the moment of the autumn Equinox.
Happy Fall Y’all !
If you cannot see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
It was a beautiful, bright autumn day, with air like cider and a sky so blue you could drown in it.
Diana Gabaldon
Starting today I’ll begin to put up my Fall decorations. I put out everything from leaves, flowers and go through Halloween and into Thanksgiving too. The days get dreary in the fall and I like to brighten things up. The pictures today are from previous years decorations, I haven’t added any thing new. They are all the same.
After fall is over, I’ll pack them away for another year.
We are some warmer today with a high of 76 degrees, but come the weekend and next week we’ll be back in the 80’s close to 90 some days, It always seems to get hotter when school begins and everyone wishes they were outdoors instead of sitting in a classroom. Thankfully our schools are now updated and have air conditioning, It used to be we had none, only fans blowing hot air around.
l hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!
COUNTING MY BLESSINGS
Spring is beautiful, and summer is perfect for vacations, but autumn brings a longing to get away from the unreal things of life , out into the forest at night with a campfire and rustling leaves.
Margaret Elizabeth Sangster
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
11,616. For lots of decorations to make dreary days brighter
11,617. for air in schools keeping students cool.
11,618. for Harvests and plenty to eat. It was a bountiful summer.

September is the beginning of fall and I'm sad to see summer go. I love being warm!
It still feels like Summer in these parts, so I'll probably postpone putting out my Fall decor until the end of October.
I don't have much, but coupled with the (electric) fireplace, it makes the house seem cozier somehow.
Happy Friday!
Very interesting read. I never realized so many things have a month dedicated to them or it.
