Hallmark!
Today is Take Your Pants for a Walk Day which celebrates Going for walk with your pants on. The only thing you need to consider is to walk outside and have pants with you. As long as you are wearing pants, you do not have to do anything else. Taking pants on a leash and walk it like a dog would be a very literal and humorous way to celebrate
Going for a walk outside is not only good and heathy for the stroller, but also for the pants he wears. If he slims during his walks, they may also ease off a little bit.
To celebrate invite some friends and if they are all wearing pants could have a great tine together.
If you cannot see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
In every walk with nature one receives for more than he seeks.
John Muir
Walking is the best excercise I know of. Walks clear the mind and most of us can do it. It’s not as hard on your body as jogging. I’ve always enjoyed going for a walk. Being in nature is amazing and you see so much more than when you are driving a car.
I have a nice neighborhood to walk in, even though we don’t have sidewalks, there is very little traffic and I always walk in the direction facing on an oncoming car so I can see it ahead of time and move over to the side of the road to make room for a car to get safely through.
When riding my bike it’s the opposite. You ride with the flow of the traffic and obey the traffic laws. I used to do more walking than I do now, but arthritis has slowed me down a lot.
Today I’ll be walking through a store behind a cart. They do help. It’s my day to go shopping. I don’t need many groceries, so I’m going to Target. They’ll have everything I need.
As usual I’ve made up a new menu for next week to do my shopping from.
The menu for next week is:
Monday - Egg - Vegetable Salad Wraps
Wednesday - Philly Cheesecake Stuffed Peppers
Friday - One Pot Garlicky Shrimp and Broccoli
Weekend - Summer Chicken Parmesan
On the menu for today is:
Hungarian Beef Goulash
Makes 12 servings
3 medium onions, chopped
2 carrots, chopped
2 green peppers, chopped
3 pounds beef stew meat
3/4 tsp pepper, divided
2 Tbsp. olive oil
1 1/2 cups beef broth
1/4 cup flour
3 Tbsp paprika
2 Tbsp. tomato paste
1 tsp caraway seeds
1 garlic clove, minced
12 cups whole wheat egg noodles
1 cup sour cream
Place onions, carrots, and green peppers in slow cooker.
Sprinkle meat with pepper, In a skillet brown meat, transfer to slow cooker.
Add broth to skillet, stirring to loosen browned bits from pan. Combine the flour, paprika, tomato paste, caraway seeds, garlic and remaining pepper, Bring to a boil, stirring. Cook 2 minutes and pour over meat. Cover and cook on low for about 8 hours or until meat is tender.
Cook the noodles according to package instructions and stir sour cream into the slow cooker. Drain noodles , serve with goulash.
I got spaetzle at the store instead of using the noodles and I didn’t have caraway seeds so I omitted them. I only made one half this recipe because it makes a lot.
Serving size is 2/3 cup goulash, 1 cup noodles.
Today we’re in the upper 80’s and very humid, so I may make a sandwich or salad for dinner and skip the goulash and save it for a cool fall day. The only time it’s cool enough for a walk is in the early morning. The pictures today are of a walk I took in the spring around our community.
I hope you all have a have a WONDERFUL Wednesday !

Walking is good exercise and helps to clear your mind.
I'm grinning, visualizing someone taking a pair of heavily starched jeans for a walk. What was that movie, "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants"? I never saw it, but thought the title intriguing.
The only walking I'll be doing today is from the parking lot into the movie theater where we're meeting friends. It's still far too hot for another couple months. I really should resume my daily walks; all that went by the wayside a couple years ago when Tom became so ill.
I grinning too - I hope everyone who is walking outside has some sort of pants on! What a sight if they didn't!
I don’t care to wear pants haha👖
