Today is International Joke Day which is a day to put some laughter in the world. While a lot of strife is going on in the world, everything is different on this day. The aim is to bring people to laugh by telling jokes.
A joke is understood as something spoken, written or done, including aspects like around, sarcasm, word plays, with humorous intention. Since laughter is the best medicine do something for your health and tell your friends some good jokes
To celebrate today find a good joke to tell or play a joke to make your friends and family laugh.
If you cannot see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Everyone has a sense of humor. If you don’t laugh at jokes, you probably laugh at opinions.
Chris Jami
Laughter is so good for us, it reduces stress and makes us feel good. One way to make people laugh is to tell a joke. I haven’t heard a good joke in quite awhile. If you have one to share, I’d appreciate hearing it. When we were kids we used to get joke books so we could tell them to our friends. There used to be some good ones, but sometimes as we get older we don’t joke around like we used to do.
It is a known fact that children laugh more than adults do. I guess it’s time to revive some of that childhood laughter.
Since I don’t have any good jokes to tell I’m showing you pictures of my grandchildren laughing. They always brighten all my days. Laughter is contagious and when you make someone laugh it usually spreads to others.
Today is my day to cook for the weekend. This is no joke and on the menu is:
Skillet Steak with Mushroom Sauce
Makes 4 servings
12 oz boneless beef top sirloin steak
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tsp vegetable oil
6 oz. broccoli, trimmed
1 cup frozen peas
1 tsp chopped fresh thyme
3 cups sliced mushrooms
1 cup unsalted beef broth
1 Tbsp. whole grain mustard
2 tsp.cornstarch
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Sprinkle steak with seasoning and garlic. Heat a cast iron skillet over medium high heat. Add the steak and broccoli. Cook for 4 minutes, turning the broccoli once, do not turn the steak. Place peas around the steak and sprinkle with thyme. Transfer the skillet to oven and bake until the steak is medium rare, about 8 minutes. Transfer steak and vegetables to a platter, leave the drippings in the pan and keep warm.
Add mushrooms to the drippings. Cook over medium high heat for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally Whisk broth, mustard, and cornstarch in a small bowl or measuring cup. Add to the pan with the mushrooms. Cook stirring until thick and bubbly, about 2 minutes. Cook, stirring for 1 minute more. Serve the steak and vegetables with the sauce.
This is a quick and easy dinner to make. The sauce sounds delicious to me.
I got to enjoy our local fireworks on Friday night. You can see them from the front of my house. All I had to do was look out my window. I didn’t realize they were scheduled but heard all the noise and had to look outside. The park where they were displayed them is not too far from me. The tree tops made seeing all of them but the higher ones, But I got a terrific view. They were a surprise and a beautiful sight in the night sky.
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday !

Laughter is truly the best medicine. Tell a joke today and make someone laugh!
I, too, haven't heard a good (clean) joke in a long time. Maybe I'm imagining things, but don't care much for the material today's comedians are using. Even the late-night talk show hosts' humor seems cutting (to me).
Usually America's Funniest Home Videos show makes us giggle; and I can't forget my two favorite movies, "City Slickers" and "Going in Style."
Let's start a (laughter) epidemic!
Q: What did the cat say when he lost all his money?
A: I’m paw!
I love good clean and silly jokes.
Happy 4th. of July.
