The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades.  May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks,  and boring grays of your every day.

Today is National DNA Day which commemorates two important events in DNA research — James Watson and Francis Crick’s discovery of the double helix in 1953, and the completion of the Human Genome Project in April 2003.  Both of these accomplishments have had a huge impact on modern biomedical research and innovation.  

The official sponsor of DNA Day is the National Human Genome Research Institute, which is part of the National Institutes of Health.  Every year, the institute hosts a series of presentations, online forums and contests to help celebrate this unique branch of science. 

To celebrate today take a moment to learn something new about genetics and DNA.

My pictures today are of some of my grandchild which all have part of my DNA inside of them.  Mine and my ancestors DNA will effect their lives.  

 Many people these days are having their DNA tested to find out more about their ancestors.  Some are trying to find family that they never knew they had.  We hear about people finding out who their birth mothers are if they’ve been adopted.  And DNA helps in discovering who is a true criminal. 

As DNA is fairly new, some people have been released from prison because their DNA was not on the scene of the crime. 

I’ve never had my DNA tested, but I know people that have.  One of my friends found out that her ancestors originated with the Vikings. 

I know a lot about my ancestors just because of stories passed on, but not everyone does. 

It’s to be an overcast day with rain coming in later on , so you know what I’ll be doing, that’s right, staying inside, keeping dry and doing some housework.  That way when we get a nice day, I’ll be able to go out and have some fun!

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for.  There is truly is always something to be thankful for.

11,251 for our DNA, everyone is unique and has their own

11,252. for a day to stay inside and get house work done.

11,253.for better days coming our way !

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS

Please pray for God's protection of

our troops and HIS wisdom for their

commanders.

 

Almighty and eternal God,

Protect our military

as they discharge their duties

with the shield of your strength,

may the power of your love

enable them to return home in safety

that with all who love them

they may ever praise you for your loving care.

AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters and EMT’s.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.
