Hallmark!
Today is National Siblings Day which is a great opportunity to celebrate all of your siblings and other fantastic people in our lives who have acted as as siblings over years.
Siblings Day has been recognized as an annual event for thousands of years in other nations including Northern India and several South Asian countries. In the U.S., it become an official holiday in 2009 from the efforts of the Siblings Day foundation. Claudia Evart, founder of the foundation created the holiday after both her siblings passed away early in life.
Today the foundation hopes to grow as large as Mothers and Father’s Day, as all these people are very important in our lives. Siblings relationships is often one of the longest relationship in a person’s life.
To celebrate today, tell your siblings how much they mean to you today, and show how much you appreciate them.
If you cannot see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Your siblings are the only people in the world who know what its like to have been brought up the way you were.

My youngest sister is the only sibling I still have. I used to have one more sister who was in the middle as far as age is concerned. I am the oldest of 3 girls born to my parents.
It wasn’t easy to be the oldest sister. My mom worked and usually put me in charge when we came home after school. My sisters would tease me as much as they could. They would gang up on me and provide some tough times for me. When we got older though, we were best friends and my youngest sister is still a friend to me. I don’t get to see her often, but I can call her anytime I need someone to talk to. She is always there for me.
My daughter always wanted a sister, but all she had were brothers. I never had one of those. But when my sons got married they gave my daughter 6 Sister in laws.. She loves having them all in her life, the sisters she always wanted.
It’s my day to cook up something new here and on the menu is:
Stuffed Potatoes with Salsa and Beans
Yield: 4 potatoes
4 russet potatoes
1/2 cup fresh salsa
1 ripe avocado sliced
1 15 oz. can pinto beans, rinsed, warmed and lightly mashed
4 tsp, chopped pickled jalapeños
Pierce potatoes all over with a fork. Microwave, turning once or twice, until soft. About 20 minutes. transfer to a clean cutting board. Cut them lengthwise, but not all the way through . Pinch the ends to expose the flesh.
Top each potato with some salsa, avocado, beans and jalapeños . Serve warm.
I won’t be using any jalapeños as I like my food mild, but otherwise, this recipe sounds very good and one stuffed potato is sure to fill me up, but some might prefer them as a side dish.
Today we’ll be in the 60’s and tomorrow in the the 70’s. It is to be warm and sunny all week. I’m really going to enjoy it !
I hope you all have a GREAT Start to this new week! Happy Monday!
A sister is a gift to the heart, a friend to the spirit, a golden thread to the meaning of life.

If you don't have a sibling I hope you have a friend that is like a sister to you !
I was the middle child out of 5 children. Two brothers died while in their 40s; I called them "bastards" because they were awful and mean to me. I have the oldest brother and one sister at the tail end of the siblings. I see my brother once a year, and my sister in Ohio every couple of years. She doesn't fly.
We are blessed by our siblings..
Happy sibling day. I am glad you still have your sister.
You had seven children? Boy I envy you in a great way.
Love, sandie
Yes, while I have no biological siblings, I've been fortunate to know a couple of friends who feel like it.
Your stuffed potato sounds good! Tell you what -- you can have my beans and I'll take your jalapenos. Something for everyone!
Sibs will never be as loved as Mom & Dad.
