Life is a special   

occasion!

Hallmark!

Today is Easter which is a Christian holiday that celebrates the resurrection of Jesus. To celebrate, people participate in church services, festive meals and Easter Egg Hunts.

The Easter Bunny became a symbol for Easter in Germany in the 1600’s .Children would make nests for Easter Sunday and if they were well behaved the Easter Bunny would fill them with brightly colored eggs.  German settlers brought this tradition to America during the 1700’s.  Over the years Easter nests evolved into decorated baskets, and the Easter Bunny’s morning deliveries expanded to include gifts, candy and chocolate.  Today Easter is one of the highest grossing candy holidays, second only to Halloween.

Celebrate today, and go to church or attend a festive meal with friends and family.

If you cannot see the bright side, polish the dull side

I’ll be attending church with some of my family this morning and then going to dinner at DS#5’s house.  It’s another beautiful day and it should be a lot of fun for all.  

 My son will be having a ham and then saving the ham bone in the freezer for bean soup that he always makes at Halloween. I got some bunny ear headbands for the grand babes to wear.  I thought they would make for some fun pictures to take.

I meant to take them to our family Easter celebration at DS#6’s house but I forgot.  Thankfully, I can give some of them out today.

The pictures today are a Easter Lily I received for a gift.

COUNTING MY BLESSINGS 

The great gift of Easter is hope - Christian hope which makes us have that confidence in God, in His intimate triumph, and His goodness and love, which nothing can shake.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for.  There is truly is always something to be thankful for.

11,203 For Easter Sunday, a beautiful day 

11,204. for a dinner out that I don’t have to cook

11,205. for a church that has been home to me for almost 50 years

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS

Please pray for God's protection of

our troops and HIS wisdom for their

commanders.

 

Almighty and eternal God,

Protect our military

as they discharge their duties

with the shield of your strength,

may the power of your love

enable them to return home in safety

that with all who love them

they may ever praise you for your loving care.

AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters and EMT’s.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.
