THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Life is not a matter of holding good cards, but of playing a poor hand well.
Robert Louis Stevenson
I used to enjoy playing cards with family or friends. We’d get together for entertainment in the cold of winter. One of my grandson’s always brings a pack of cards when we go out to eat. He starts a game with us at the talble to pass the time while we are waiting for our food.
Card games are many and have a lot of different rules. I used to enjoy Canasta, but it’s been so long since I played I doubt I can remember the rules. ‘
At one time I was asked to play bridge with a group of friends but they were so serious, I didn’t enjoy it, I prefer a game where you can talk and joke while playing. They complained that I talked too much and they couldn’t concentrate on the cards. I no longer remember the rules of bridge either. I do enjoy playing Uno which is a card game even the kids enjoy.
For today I’m not making up a new menu or going shopping, I’m leaving on vacation and won’t be home. So I’ll be enjoying the food at DS#4’s house instead. He is known as the burger king and his wife is a very good cook. I’ll be letting you know what we have when I post.
DD is taking me to the airport and DS#5 will be picking me up when I come home. They’ll also be keeping check on my house to make sure everything is ok while I’m gone.
I never made it to the doctor yesterday as my car battery had frozen up and the car wouldn’t start, so I had to call and rescuedule for when I come back home.
Tomorrow when I post, I’ll be doing so from the patio at my son’s house. I so enjoy sitting there and seeing the sun rise.
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!
God deals us all different hands. How we play ‘em is up to us.

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters and EMT’s.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the game.

A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

You're blessed when you're content with just who you are—no more, no less. That's the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can't be bought

Play some cards today and enjoy some time spent with family and friends!
My aunt introduced me to Canasta when I was about 13. How I loved it. Like so many things, it went by the way and I, too, can't recall the rules. After my father passed, my mom took up bridge. Yet, when her mind began failing (before we realized) the other ladies in her club were so mean to her and basically asked her to step down. Who needs that kind of pressure!
We do play a lot of cards here. Also you are right - we never know the cards God will deal us - do we?
