ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR MONDAY, AUGUST 31ST, 2020
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Happy Birthday to you♥
Today is also Eat Outside Day which is a very timely celebration. It’s the last day of August and is the perfect opportunity to take breakfast, lunch or dinner into the great outdoors.and enjoy the last few days of warm summer weather.
Al-fresco dining first became popular.in the 18th century. Patrons who enjoyed eating their meals in the open air could visit the gardens, seashore resorts, or rooftop restaurants. Eating outside was considered a tourist activity up until early 1900’s. Around that time, the first sidewalk cafes appeared on the streets of Manhattan.
There are many ways to participate today. Eat at your favorite outdoor restaurant , enjoy a popsicle on your porch, oranize a barbecue in your backyard, or have a picnic at a local park. What ever you do, jut be sure to enjoy some time outside. Have fun !
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
We had a great day for the party yesterday We gathered for lunch and then the kids went swimming. The weather turned cool in the low 70’s and the water was cold but none of them seemed to care. Then the gifts were opened and we all had cake and ice cream. The cake was a cookie cake and was delicious. I met their new cat and the dogs were all very jealous of it and wanted my attention. Good thing the cat is very easy going and didn’t seem to mind the dogs at all.
I got home ear;y, about 5 o’c;lock and promptly had a nap in my rocking chair. I wasn’t hungry for any dinner but snacked a bit on a few chips and that was enough. I was still full from lunch I guess and the cake and ice cream too.
Today’s dinner is supposed to be:
Greek Kale Salad with Quinoa and Chicken
Makes 2 servings
4 cups chopped kale or spinach
1 1/2 cups shredded cooked chicken
1 cup cooked quinoa
1/4 cup sliced roasted red peppers
1/4 cup Greek salad dressing
Crumbled feta cheese, optional
Place kale, chicken, quinoa and roasted peppers in a large bowl. Add dressing to coat and top with feta, if desired.
I don’t have kale on hand and will use spinach instead and have no feta cheese either so will use some shredded mozzarella I do have on hand.Making do with what I’ve got.
It’s supposed to a pleasant week with temps in the low 80’s or upper 70’s here so it will be nice to sit outdoors on the sunsporch and enjoy it. These summer days are fast fading and this week I hope to finish up my decorating for fall. I want to be done by Labor Day weekend which is just right around the corner.
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday!

Mr. Wonderful's party sounds like a real delight ... for all ages! (Silly perhaps, but I remember when I turned 10 y/o I was pretty excited, telling people I was 2-numbers old. LOL.) You're so right about young ones not minding cold pool water. Not sure why, but its enviable. These days I'm perfectly happy to sit back and watch.
'Have a super new week!
So glad you enjoyed the party. Sounds like the perfect weather, but a little to chilly for swimming, although kids never seem to mind. Love the photos. Enjoy the last day of August!
Happy birthday to Mr. wonderful! Looked like a fun party. I think kids would swim in freezing water if they were allowed to lol.
