ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Eat Beans Day which are one of the most heart healthy foods known to man. Beans have more fiber than most whole grain foods and are high in protein and very low in fat.
The USDA recommends that adults eat at least 3 cups of beans every week which is about three times more than the average person usually consumes.
There are thousands of different bean varieties. Some of the most popular include lima bans, pinto beans, green beans, black beans, white beans, and kidney beans.
To celebrate today, cook up your favorite bean recipe for dinner tonight.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Don’t spill the beans...
Since this is the beginning of the long 4th of July holiday weekend, I’m cooking up some baked beans, hot dogs and potato salad here at my house. This is a meal for me that will probably last through the weekend. It’s going to be a quiet holiday here, no company and I’m staying at home. The people in my family that live close by are on vacation and the others live too far away.
When I make baked beans I usually used canned pork and beans, but they can be made with dried beans too.
Easy Baked Beans
2 cans Pork and Beans
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
2 tablespoons brown sugar
3 tablespoon bacon bits
1 onion chopped or 2 tablespoons dried onion flakes
Stir all the ingredients together in a 1 1 /2 quart casserole dish. Microwave on high for 6 minutes. Stir the mixture and microwave for 2 more minutes until hot. Let stand for 2 minutes and stir before serving.
Or if you prefer bake in a 350 degree oven until heated through and bubbly.
The pictures are just of few of my family celebrating the 4th of July in the past.
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of

Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Better beans and bacon in peace than cakes and ale in fear.

Beans are good and good for us too!
Your menu sounds so good, Ma! Enjoy it! DIL makes a similar type of baked beans and they are tasty!

Love the pix of your grand-girl and the sparkler. They're my favorite!
Save 'refried', I'm not crazy for beans … but I won't let a New Years go by without a spoonful of black-eyed peas/beans. A wildly-popular seafood restaurant here brings little black pots of white beans out to every table with the complimentary rolls. I didn't have any, but friends said it was delicious.
