ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is World Listening Day which honors the birthday of Raymond Murray Schafer a Canadian composer and environmentalist who is seen as the founder of acoustic ecology. Acoustic ecology is a discipline that studies the relationships between humans and the natural world as mediated through sound. Sound waves and soundscapes are all around us.
It’s a day to quiet down, open your ears and get ready to listen.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer day listening the mummur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is no means a waste of time.
John Lubbock
I love listening to the music of soundscapes. I have several different ones on my playlist that are very relaxing. One of my favorites is called Ocean Breeze. Nature does have some beautiful sounds. Just stepping outside on any given moment is wonderful. Birds chirping in the early morning tell us to wake up, wake up, be of good cheer.
We all have ears but sometimes we don’t really listen to what is all around us. Listening to others is important too. So many times we talk rather than taking the time just to listen to what people have to say. When we take the time to listen, it’s amazing what we really can hear.
Today’s pictures are repeats of the beach on the shores of Lake Erie, my favorite place to be.
I hope you all have GREAT day. Happy Thursday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Wisdom is the reward you get for a lifetime of listening when you’d have prefered to talk.
Doug Larson
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
7258. for the gift of hearing
7259. for the sounds of nature
7260. for those that listen
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch , a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.
Leo Buscaglia
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

Listen! We need to do that!
Lovely pictures! I hadn't heard the term acoustic ecology before but I like it! It is so peaceful being outside listening to the noises around one, especially if at the beach or in the mountains enjoying nature.

A careful listener is a gem, indeed.
Hearing and listening, together are a good team.
Sadly we have so many who are NOT listening to what is going on around them. So much hate in America right now.
